She should simply move to a country where her talent is recognised and celebrated.

Just because the way she dresses, she has to leave her own country?
Absurd situation coupled with poor logic.

According to this, her country cares about her dress than her talent so why not? If I was her, I would have shown the middle finger to self-righteous religious nutters and move to a whole new country if I can.

in the south indian states of tamil nadu and kerala and karnataka, males were lungis that revel the bottom portion ( or even half ) of their thighs... essentially a male mini-skirt... and in india in recent years, college-going males and jobnik males in their 30's and 40's i have seen going into shopping malls in shorts.

i find this disgusting and want to hit those males' legs with stick to teach them to wear shorts under pants and not as the only bottom clothing.

i find it hypocrisy that in india, males can, traditionally or modernly, revel their legs and wear vests but the traditional social structure gets aggressive or violent against ladies who don't cover-up or even wear jeans.

your opinion, please.

@levina ^^^
Seventy years back both men and women of Southern India used to wear mundu. Somewhere down the lane men switched to shorts while women folks were stuck with sarees. Lol
I see southern india as more conservative compared to North.
Btw India is off topic here. :)

Nothing:

Answer the following:

Are women not aroused seeing the hairy chest of men, do they have (albeit disguised) feelings are not?
how should i know? do i look like a woman to you?

It's a slap on your face according to him. A slap on mine.

Slap on everyone's face, logic be damned.
how is it s slap exactly?

Didn't think you'd get upset so easily. Don't quote me next time unless you've got something useful to say. I've been curtious to you before the second to last post of yours.
What is the point of this forum after all if it isn't debate?
Bhai, it is you who is calling those who happen to differ with your POV as hypocrite. You have a point of view, I have mine and debate can only go on if both sides avoid calling each other names. I have noticed it before, and now again that you are cocky, too cocky, in-fact cockiest of all Mods. What courtesy you have shown to me? or should I ask what courtesy can you show to me? that you do not rank me negative or give me a thread ban? what? I am no loser in real life who you address like this.

It's official: men see women in bikinis as 'sex objects' - Independent.ie
This link is enough slap on face of many here and another to proof Islamic order of Hijab.
@Jungibaaz @syedali73 @Jf Thunder @Peaceful Civilian
I tell you what is official. Men want to see every woman (minus mother and sister) naked for sex is round the clock on men's mind contrary to women who think of romance and not sex. If a man denies what I am saying, he is either lying or not a man. Countless studies are done on this subject and this is no secret. Allah is Hakeem, if he required women to cover themselves up, it was because Allah knew all too well about men's psychology. Now same orders are for men too, they must not gaze women. Somebody questioned why we are not talking about men, well it is because the thread is based on a report that talks about a female athlete. Some times I feel like pulling my hairs reading comments and how certain supposedly Muslim members make fun of Allah's orders that are clearly mentioned in Quran. You do not want to follow them, don't, by all means don't, for there is no compulsion in religion, but for God's sake do not make fun of those.

zarvaan saheb, when i go out, i see ladies generally as sex objects ( especially the chubby ones ) and some of them admire me back... that is natural.
there is a fine line between viewing someone as a sex object and admiring him/her. Learn to view her as a human, not an object

come on... i won't always be drooling, with a vulgar expression on face. :)

and my point to zarvan was to think also of female mind and its desires, which is bound especially in south asian context by strange traditions.

This is our biggest misunderstanding.

There is compulsion in being a Muslim to follow principles of Islam. There is no compulsion into converting into Islam. Once you are Muslim, you follow rules of Islam, you like it or not.

Muslim, specially those who want to seen as progressive want a lassiez faire in religion. There is no such thing. Take an example. If you work for an organization, and that organization has rule to be in office until 5pm but you walk away at 3pm everyday saying that its your freedom and there is no compulsion, you will most likely be fired.

Similarly, in Islam, you have to follow rules. Rules that make you an adherent or follower of a certain code of conduct and behavior.

WOMEN DONT HAVE SEXUAL DESIRES!

In my experience, very strong sexual desire but then women can conceal and keep under control much better than men.

Irony

Yes suicide bombing is wrong but the way they expose body that is also strictly prohibited in Islam.
Her body, her choice. Dont know how a bunch of old men get the idea that they publicly have to discuss her choice....

So why is it that no cleric bleats about dress code when men do not cover their knees?

Where is the outrage? Where is the "Oh, modest muslim men should wear longer pants!" opinions?

LOL I never got a proper reply to this hypocrisy. Its nothing more than sexual discrimination....

There is nothing to "disagree" about someone's clothing.
There is. Disagreement simply means I wouldn't want my daughter to wear such clothes.
LOL :D :D :D
I don't see any sexual organs at men's knees that needs special covering, do you?
Knees do not need ''special covering'', that is simply the guideline.
