Musharraf sees a chance of becoming the next PM / President:coffee:
Tuesday, September 14th, 2010

Pervez Musharraf thinks he has a good chance of winning the next presidential election. He says he is not confident of victory, but it’s better to try and fail to lift the “darkness” enveloping the nation than to make no effort.

The ex-president told BBC News in an interview that he wants to help the country regain its self-confidence, saying Pakistan is in a “pathetic” situation. When asked if he is confident of becoming the next president of Pakistan, Musharraf replied: “No I can’t be assured, I can’t be confident, but I believe there is a good chance of my winning on the political scene. I haven’t decided whether I’m going to be president or anything, but however, winning first of all in the next election is the issue”.

When asked about fears that money donated towards flood relief in Pakistan might end up lost in corruption, he said: “There is corruption in Pakistan, there is no doubt about it, it is heartbreaking how people are not bothered about the country. They have a lot of money and yet they are corrupt”.

Musharraf said the advice to the donors he would like to give is that they ought to be careful on who they are giving the money to. “One thing that I would like to advise when you give your money, a donor or an organization getting the money, it’s good that they show so many hundred thousand dollars collected but we should ask how much is going to the people?”, he said.

I think many people are realizing that he is the best option, give or take Imran Khan. Any other politician is deeply corrupt and needs to be put before a firing squad. If he is allowed into Pakistan and to stand elections, I think there's a fair chance of him winning.

when are the next presidential election in pakistan and who are the popular people beside zardari and musharref??

Why don't we elect the biggest primate in karachi zoo as our head of state.....perhaps he can make decisions based on drawing cards like they do for predicting fortunes...we might actually be better of - you now probability theory...chances...

It will be tough for him, but then again this is Pakistan anything is possible :):)

leader is just a leader; the people working under the future leader are what will matter on micro/day-to-day matters

corruption is rampant under the incumbent administration and that is public knowledge.......

inflation; corruption; national security; flood relief/reconstruction efforts; improved public services; national electric and natural gas grid; population growth; development in FATA & Baluchistan regions...........

these are some of the KEY issues that need to be addressed

And somehow Pakistani '***** masses' kicked out his PMLQ and Musharraf himself despite all the 'never better' climate.

Coming back to topic:
The only way I see Musharraf becoming the next president/PM is via an Army-influenced 'elections'. Otherwise, in all likelihood, it will be Nawaz Sharif's turn to be the PM.

well let him, create a hung parliament ...good for Pakistan. People shouldn't be aggressive emotional....cool and chill out and take cold glass of water get a arm chair and enjoy the show....don't be part of show until once needed.
