Musharraf’s party plans ‘historic welcome’ amid calls for arrest

Mush is a half-Ahmedi whose objective is to create an Anglo-Indian type Secular Pakistan. He envisions a Pakistan where people can dance and drink alcohol like him and play with poodle. His best friends are the rulers of Israel who had offered him comfortable sanctuary when he was forced out. He has dared to degrade Jinnah by quoting him out of context saying Jinnah wanted a secular Pakistan.

Ik party is the front runner in popularity among a certain demographics..
it is not the front runner in electables...people whose votes will count.

Musharraf is probably likely not win a single seat.. his role is that of a "has-been".

but after reading posts of certain members here a lot seem against a parliamentary sys of governance and would prefer martial law. is that true on the ground?

The perception depends on the person asked.
The voters in Karachi would prefer business.. and during Musharraf's times they thrived..and there was greater law and order due to the MQM being handed over Karachi with little in the way of turf wars due to its state party status.
Hence, those voters would prefer the perceived economic benefits that come with dictatorship...simply due to the fact that every dictator had the benefit of billions of dollars of Aid being pumped in along with economic privileged... Marry that with technocrats and you had a seemingly booming economy... that runs well with the urban class.

However, contrast this to the people in Fata .. with constant drone attacks and general misery since Musharraf took power.. and their votes(along with most of KP) will not be for Musharraf(nor the PPP for that matter or any pro-military party).
Punjab has different dynamics as it is a lot more swayed in terms of voting than KP.
In essence, with voting by fear still in practice and a divided urban class... The military still does not have enough solid ground to return as the "savior". They have realized that if they front Musharraf then his negative PR will reflect on them.. so it is quite likely they'll feed him to the vultures IF he returns. In the meantime, they are happy just by manipulating key players in the election game whilst ensuring that their popularity does not wane(as does not the funding and privilege).

He never walked outside without a security cordon.
There is no such thing as "no fear" in this position.
Not just from terrorist threats.. but from internal enemies.
The current Chief for eg.. has his own designated helo that is maintained by handpicked personnel and guarded by selected SSG.

However, the minute the rank goes.. and the Salutes stop.. these people end up like Musharraf.. Broken and dancing to "Bewafa nikli hai tu".

He even drinks handpicked milk FFS, a ISI vigo goes every morning to a particular farm in Chak Shehzad and collects the milk...sehat waisay hi to nhn bani na! Theres a very peculiar and long story behind this whole milk thing, and very funny too!

Btw, regarding your previous post and the Army supporting Mush, dont you think the army or atleast COAS will support mush in some form? They are best pals after all!
