Gen. Musharraf is on a lecture tour and he has not cut a deal with the Saudis like NS.

Where is NS these days when his supporters need him the most?

BTW, how would one rate Punjab govt.'s performance on a scale of 10? I think it will be -1

considering average speaking fees for a well known political figure is around 100k a pop. he makes more money speaking outside Pakistan.

Ah Thomas you are a very honest Person. He makes money exactly nobody is stopping from doing so unfortunately some of my countrymen are having baseless dream about him.

He is a money making machine but not a leader.

Can the GoP guarantee his safety?

Interestingly enough I came across this today. You never know what may happen in Pakistan but Hassan Nisar's point about people in Pakistan missing Musharraf may turn out to be true in a few more years.

Just start at 0:38

In all honesty, the above is your opinion and that is it. Others may feel differently. If he is not a leader, then you have nobody, and I repeat, NOBODY in Pakistan who can claim to be a leader. The rest are all worse than him.

Given our feudal/political setup, the chances of a new generation of leadership with service to the nation as a motivation does not exist.

^^ oh thats so funny nobody can be a leader like musharraf...

musharraf is like a termite, if we have leaders like musharraf, pakistan will become USA colony in next few years, so called war on terror will eventually enter all corners of the country, zardari that illeterate bas.tard is supporting all busharraf policy and look what he is doing to the country.

musharraf is the present night mare of the country. we should hang this fool and burn his terrible legacy

Idol worship of political figures is blasphemous for democracy.
But when talking about Musharaff, indeed there is a certain charisma about him. You somehow feel attracted to follow his words and orders. He is indeed a few among many who can truly lead. I do personally admire Mush, for his leadership qualities and his disarming honesty, in a world of back-stabbers and schemers!!

Though, IMHO, he is not the only solution Pakistan has for now. You indeed have capable leaders, only that after so many years of military 'dictatorship' IMHO, you need to give democratic process due time to firmly take root and flourish. Geelani is a good man, even your previous FM (under Mush) was an excellent communicator! Zardari, his critics notwithstanding, is a much experienced, pragmatic politician on the world stage, though many would angrily digress.

I do believe there are many people in Pakistan who can be able leaders. I have seen many Pakistanis here in US who are hard working and work for the betterment of communities. Extrapolating the same for people in Pakistan, you need to give the political process due time to truly mature and not wish for a military takeover if you are overwhelmed with a sense of defeatism.

Gen. Kayani, so far, has shown that he does not want the army to indulge in politics and wants the democratic process to mature. When the road is set, you will be surprised how many leaders you will find. Look within yourselves.

I did not say nobody CAN be a leader like Musharraf. I have said, of all the jokers on the scene, he is the better of the bunch. The context is the bunch on the scene right now. Since I have no visibility into the future, I cannot say much about it, but for now, who do we have?

You can disagree and I have no problems with it. The only issue that I take up with a critique like yours is that its just critique. How about coming up with some names as alternates, aside from Imran Khan, for a change?

any fool can be an alternative to him, he is worse than a fool, he will compromise the whole country just to keep his seat warm and away from all dangers.

.
He speaks nice words , but he is the one who did all this.

Thanks for getting us into this hell mushii.
