MUMBAI: The Meghwadi police arrested four teenagers who lured a 16-year-old girl and gang-raped her after offering beer at Aarey colony last week. The three accused are students and they were known to the survivor.
She was living at an NGO run child care shelter in Andheri and came home during Holi vacation when the incident took place.
The police said that the accused approached the girl on March 15 and requested her to accompany them for a party. They all had drunk beer in a BMC ground after which the accused took the girl to Aarey colony and they took turn on her. They again convinced the survivor to accompany them on next day and repeated the offence.
The survivor was drunk and unaware about the crime, police said.
On March 17, she felt health complications after which she called one of the accused to inquire about the party.
The accused confessed to her that he along with his three friends had gang-raped her.
The shocked survival didn't tell her mother about the incident and returned back to the shelter. A sister at shelter found her behaviour changed and inquired her about it.
The survivor told the sister about entire incident. The sister took her to a hospital which confirmed that she was sexually assaulted. The sister took the survivor to the Meghwadi police station on March 20 and filed the case.
The police managed to arrest the accused . The police produced them before a court on March 21 and the court remanded them into seven days police custody.
