Agreed. But in a ten minute flight time scenario where even Israel and Saudi arabia are struggling with basic ballistics.. unless you have some Star Wars esque defense system which India does not and will not be able to achieve- the endgame; what will be left matters where the command network will have to deal with.Given in an all out war, the only side that comes out on top is the one whose command network survives the longest, Air defence is just a deterrence to preserve the same. India's BMD/AD is just due diligence to its strategic roadmap. This not the path to nirvana, rather sticking to the roadmap.
Today if where you and I are and the Russians or Chinese go to war, by some fortune we hear of the 30 minute flight time and somehow make it out of a target zone.. if we make it to places in Nebraska or Montana or boondocks in Arizona we may just live out lives.. but extremely miserably.. that is with a 300 million census.
What lives will be left for a billion in a much smaller land mass?
What is that nation and what is that life?
See “The day after” for what Im talking about.
Leave the facade of nationalism we put up here, basic human calculus tells you that even with 50% shot down- the number of missiles and weapons we have will cause enough misery that what survives will hate their leadership (if there is one) for it.
That also considers that somehow the urban population that make it out and then agro land all close to the border somehow makes it unscathed by radiation and so on.
There is no WIN here, even if in a “destroy India” win - and for once you have leadership in Pakistan understanding that.
The population here can be convinced to whatever extent that they are dying for a higher cause.. that is the basis for suicide bombing and so on. Whether they agree during the misery that ensues is irrelevant. They have families to lose but in general economic terms the effect wont be that drastic and so.. they will support it before the decision comes through..Can the same be said for India and Indians? Those who understand the implications of a nuclear conflict on whatever will remain of today’s growing India?
Always heard from people who haven’t actually seen violence or death.I am pretty much prepared. In case of such strike I wouldn't be running away rather I would be running towards it.
Can't comment about others.
