What's new

'Mujib: The Making of a Nation' releases today in 200 halls

That’s just made up nonsense!!

JSD are always behind BAL and support Hasina e.g. Inu

Bangladeshis were 100% behind Pakistan right until “operation searchlight”.

Then the entire population turned except the Biharis and Jamatis.
Good thing was that both biharis and jamatis were kicked in the butt by pakistanis and shown how traitors of the country should be treated.pakistanis refused to take biharis and jamatis to take in to pakistan . Though it was a good decision by pakistanis traitors should not be rewarded at any cost .

Rioting by a select insecure few doesn't amount to general revolt
Where do you find rioting only by a few when 93,000 PA troops came out of the Cantonments firing bullets and machine guns.

Please do not distort history.

Pakistan had minimum troops at disposal as Pakistan's greatest weapon in Bengal was the geography and no one expected the Bengali population to renege on Pakistan resolution in favor of racial identity. Pakistan truly underestimated the susceptibility of Bengali insecurities as a linguistic group slash nation.

True. Under-estimated and also failed to act to counter the susceptibility and how Indians would influence them.

Why are you fussing with troop number? It is irrelevant on 27 march night when PA troops attacked unarmed civilians in Dhaka.

This was a time when BD population did not have a single rifle, even now they do not have. Some people had only guns.

The brave PA troops fell apart when trained freedom fighters challenged the invaders with IA support.

He was less of a tyrant (to do that you need half a brain) but incapable of controlling the faida-uthana looteras around him. Total mismanagement - just like his daughter is doing today.

She is one upping him even farther, by stashing away billions overseas and appointing inept family members to cabinet posts.
Thanx for the info,I have no idea about all that stuff. Isn't he the guy in some Bangladeshi Taka banknotes?

Bangladesh maybe a less known cold war tragedy but that tragedy befell upon Pakistanis. It's quite awkward still for a Pakistani to talk about what is referred as Annexation/Fall of Dhaka.

Indians keep reminding us of 93000 POWs and how they split Pakistan.

Bangladeshis keep calling it a genocide and are happy to talk in Hindi knowing full well that their insecurities and racial tensions with non Bengalis resulted in Pakistan's shame.

It would be entirely understandable if Pakistan goes nuts to sort both you and Indians out.

The absolute mind numbing hatred and massacre of non Bengalis would demoralise any modern professional army. Mukti Bahani made the swamp a killing field while Pakistan's response was propagated to be targeting the Bengalis stoking further tensions.

Dozens of operation searchlight have taken place in Bangladesh ever since 1975. The only thing that explains Bangladesh is Indo-Pak war of 1971.

Not to that extent and not based on ethnicity.

You can escape political violence by changing your politics.

You cannot escape ethnic violence because you can never change your ethnicity.

Pakistani troops did not commit a genocide - not using the traditional definition.

However, about 300k were killed and about 250k were raped.

About 90% of the victims were Hindus and Biharis.

Biharis killed Hindus in first wave then Hinduvta took revenge.

Pakistani military killed about 30k.

Mujib confirmed the 300k killing.

BAL fanatics turned it into THREE MILLION.

This is like trying to make this guy into a cult figure using government money.

Almost all of the 84 crore went to India.

Non-Bengali muhajirs should have supported the freedom fighting. Instead, they joined PA army and did all the heinous crimes. Historically, Bihar was almost always a part of Bengal.

But, they betrayed us.

His daughter claims that he is supposedly the father of the nation, but many doubt it.

Being the "father of the nation", his image is in all the bank notes.
