Emiratis and other Arabs will not be allowed to visit al-Aqsa Mosque if they try to enter through means of normalisation, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem confirmed.
Sheikh Muhammad Ahmad Hussein deplored the normalisation pact between Israel and the UAE as a departure from the Arab and Islamic consensus. "It is not permissible to visit Al-Aqsa through normalisation processes or agreements," he asserted.

"When the Palestinian defends Jerusalem and its sanctities dignity of the nation, the Palestinian is defending the Arab and Islamic nation,” Hussein urged.

“Therefore, the Arab and Muslim nation must pay attention to such normalisation matters and reject any deviation from the Arab and Islamic consensus, with regard to the Palestinian issue in general, and Jerusalem and its sanctities in particular."

He maintained the ban is not an infringement on any Muslim’s freedom of religion, saying: “We did not say that prayer is forbidden at Al-Aqsa, whoever enters prays, but we say: it is not permissible under any circumstances for any Muslim to come through normalisation processes to visit al-Aqsa Mosque."

The Middle East felt shockwaves, after Trump announced on Thursday that the UAE had normalised ties with Israel, only the third between the Jewish state and an Arab country, after Egypt and Jordan.

Palestinians of all political leanings – from the secular Fatah of Mahmoud Abbas to the Hamas Islamist – have been unanimous in their condemnation of the deal, viewing the UAE as sacrificing the Palestinian cause to gain commercial relations with Israel.

While the agreement supposedly delays Israel's plans to unilaterally annex large swathes of the West Bank and Jordan Valley, Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeatedly urged that annexation will only be delayed.

Regional heavyweight Saudi Arabia has been conspicuously silent on the deal with no official reaction emerging from Riyadh.

He did not ban anyone from the site, he simply stated his opinion from a fiqhi perspective. So it means that he who prays and supports normalization, he is committing a sin.

let’s say this . if uae was to come out and recognised Kashmir is indian both sides ?

for masjid Al-AQSA, blood is spilt daily by Palestinians in fighting to keep it for the Muslims.

uae on the other hand has joined with the oppressor in agreeing to destroy Al AQSA masjid. they can not enter house of god. uae citizens kept quite on deal are all guilty now.

Mufti saab is correct in making this judgement. It is his right to do so. I doubt he will ban normal citizen of UAE, unless it is forced on Palestinians by Israelis where their voice is stamped out. Obviously there is no question that MBZ is not welcome here anymore.

@Falcon29 What is the Palestinian perspective? Do you know any further news about Al Aqsa?

Never heard of this , surprisingly, but if true his fatwa is a work of his own and isn't something to be necessarily applied by the Islamic Waqf that administers the mosques.

I do absolutely disagree with him and can see he's being emotional about it. Lots of Emirates are against decision by UAE government and lots of them are good , down to earth people. Btw, my disagreement is strictly since you can't prevent Muslims from praying regardless of what you think about them. So even if we thought of all Emirate people in certain way that wouldn't change.

If anything should happen, PA should dissolve itself since it no longer has strategy to combat the Israeli occupation nor to secure a firm stance by its allies. Hamas should be given freedom to operate in Palestinian controlled areas of West Bank to apply pressure against the Israeli occupation forces.

good decision. don't allow them to open mosque. they will spread something that will make people sick and probably try to kill each other.this is what they teach. pak should also cancel citizenship of all pakistanis who are in uae. we shouldn't take all the burden.
