MSNBC contributor: ‘We are disgustingly biased’ for Israel
Rula Jebreal: “My forthcoming TV appearances have been cancelled! Is there a link between my expose and the cancellation?"
MSNBC contributor Rula Jebreal has criticized the network’s coverage of Israel’s deadly offensive on the besieged Gaza strip.
Speaking on Ronan Farrow's show, Jebreal accused MSNBC of covering the Israeli perspective far more than the Palestinian side, the Huffington Post reported.
“We are disgustingly biased when it comes to this issue,” said Jebreal. “Look how [much] air time Netanyahu and his folks have on air on a daily basis — Andrea Mitchell and others. I never see one Palestinian being interviewed on these same issues —"
“I’m going to push back a little on that," Farrow interjected. "We’ve had Palestinian voices on our air.”
“Maybe for 30 seconds, and then you have twenty-five minutes for Bibi Netanyahu, and half an hour for Naftali Bennett," Jebreal countered, referring to Israel's prime minister and minister of the economy, respectively.
One day after her objections to MSNBC’s biased coverage of Israel’s offensive on Gaza, Jebreal announced on Twitter that her upcoming TV appearances have been canceled.
“My forthcoming TV appearances have been cancelled! Is there a link between my expose and the cancellation?” she wrote.
The western media have been doing all they can to divert the attention of their audience from the innocent Gazans being killed in the hundreds and instead focus on the Israeli perspective.
The American news network CNN removed its correspondent Diana Magnay from covering Israel’s deadly offensive against Gaza after she covered Israelis’ cheering of the bombing of the besieged enclave.
A live Magnay report from a hill overlooking the Gaza Strip last week showed Israelis who could be heard cheering as missiles were fired at innocent Palestinians in Gaza.
Following the report, Magnay tweeted that the Israelis who were cheering the bombing threatened her, calling them “scum.” While the tweet was quickly removed, CNN pulled Magnay out of her post covering Israel’s offensive against Palestinians and assigned her to Moscow.
One day before Magnay was removed, NBC News, pulled out its correspondent Ayman Mohyeddin from the Gaza Strip without any explanation, a move which sparked widespread criticism of the news outlet for censoring the atrocities committed by Israel against Palestinians.
