We need to start a trend in social media for Induction of MARPS in our forces.

#MRAPSforArmedForces

We need to force Military top brass sitting on its arse inside Air Conditioned rooms to induct these life saving Vehicles. This is no joking matter that despite so much loss of life our soldiers are denied required equipment to protect themselves. If our brave soldiers are denied MRAPS then strap these Top Generals on these teen Dabba Toyota Hilux and drive them around on roads of Baluchistan and Waziristan.

Unfortunately i dont really have much of a presence on social media so please someone who has followers on Twitter and Facebook start this trend.

We need good drones, network to protect the convoy movement. Even we have MARPs. why they would come under attack at first place.

.
Please share it on FB as well. Some like me are not on Twitter but we can share it on FB.

If dozens and dozens of dead bodies of precious sons of this nation couldn't wake up our top military brass to change their tactics and start using MRAPs then I don't think a social media trend would be able to do much

No harm in trying and pushing our views through their bureaucracy.

Just an FYI, The correct term is MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle) not MARP.

Corrected the thread title.

It is important to learn the basics before you start opening topics, if you are asking MRAPs for FC KPK or FC Baluchistan, then raise this issue to Ijaz Ahmed Shah, who heads interior Ministry responsible for FC, not COAS. FC is NOT subordinate to Pakistan Army, it can be attached to Pakistan Army through orders of Ministry of interior.

Therefore, it is extremely ignorant to start blaming Army top brass for losses suffered by FC since Pakistan Army buys tanks or armoured vehicles for own needs through Ministry of Defence where as FC's budgeting comes from Ministry of Interior.

So make up your mind, MRAPs for FC or MRAPs for Pakistan Army ? Both are different entities.

Soldiers who are dying in Waziristan don't just belong to FC but also Pakistan army. We all know civilians have no control on defense matters specially as far as tribal belt and Baluchistan is concerned. Even FC is headed by a Major General so it is easy to nit pick but in reality Army has full control over defense matters.

The Lt. General, Maj Generals, Brigadiers and other ranks are given on deputation to FC. This is Pakistan Army doing a favour to Ministry of Interior by shifting them under Paramilitary yet the Interior Ministry does not take care for the Army officers or troops by providing them proper military gear.

Coming to your post, like I said, both Army and FC are different entities. Deputation is a temporary command. PA has 4 x Infantry Divisions under 2 x Corps HQ in the affected regions of KPK and Baluchistan. In case of war with India, at least 1 x infantry Division and support troops from each Corps HQ will move out towards eastern border. I am in favour of MRAPs, but MRAPs are more useful to FC than Army since Army's primary role is conventional warfare. Therefore an option could be that 1 x Infantry Division from this area can be equipped with MRAPs, but FC requires MRAPs more significantly than Army and needs MRAPs permanently since FC's primary job is COIN and internal duties. As Army and FC fall under different ministries, therefore to raise a concern for FC to have MRAPs permanently holds more weight than for Army. This can make sense that for Army equipping an armored Division with modern tanks is more important for its Strike formations where as internal Ops are main burden of FC which has been modernised over time. Its also easier to equip 50,000 FC with MRAPs than 550,000 Army troops with MRAPs, when most of these 550,000 are deployed on Kashmir mountains, desert of Sindh and plains of Punjab rather than KPK and Baluchistan.

There is no nit picking here, its very clear about separate functioning and budgeting of both forces as the Government sees it.

All people who are protecting us need the proper equipment.

We have institutions in Pakistan but we, as civilians, don’t know who is in charge of what. Our (mis)conception is Army is in charge of everything as civilians institutions are what they are. No need to say more.

Even myself I wasn’t aware that FC are under the Interior Minister.

Thanks @Signalian for clarification.
