LAHORE - Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah has said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) had not entered into any alliance with the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM).

Talking to reporters, Sanaullah said the PML-N had only approached the MQM for their support in the presidential election.

“Our opinion of the MQM still remains the same. The Election Commission will investigate rigging allegations against the MQM during the May 11 polls.”

On July 26, the MQM announced that it would unconditionally support PML-N presidential candidate Mamnoon Hussain after a meeting between leaders of both parties at MQM headquarters Nine Zero.

The presidential election are to be held today Tuesday and would be contested by PML-N’s Mamnoon Hussain and PTI-backed candidate Justice (r) Wajihuddin Ahmed.

UK prime minister's visit after almost apparent trapping of Altaf Husain in London, MQM and PMLN dramatically join hands for the betterment of the democracy. Now I guess everything will be alright including money laundering cases and Imran Farooq murder.
Someone told me a long time ago that America is not worried about intelligence issues in Karachi any more as its a very easy job for the UK having MQM doing all the intelligence stuff in the metropolis for them. In return they provide a safe house to Altaf in London.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has taken notice of Rana Sanaullah’s statements regarding Muttahia Qaumi Movement (MQM), terming it as “incompatible with the party’s position.”

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sannaullah had said that the PML-N had not entered into an alliance with the MQM and the party only approached the second largest party of Sindh for their support in the presidential election.

He said, “Our opinion of the MQM still remains the same. The Election Commission will investigate rigging allegations against the MQM during the May 11 general elections.”

However, Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed said that Rana Sanaullah has been conveyed to support the reconciliation process between the two parties.

The information minister's statements came soon after the MQM’s Coordination Committee convened an emergency meeting to deliberate on the statements of Rana Sanaullah.

Parvez Rasheed asked MQM not to let the relations affected due to the Punjab law minister’s statements, which he said were incompatible with the party’s position.

The minister further stated that his party “highly respected” the mandate of MQM, adding that the MQM has a public confidence since long.

Let us say right now we are clear that PML-N is looking for Mamnoon Hussain's support.

Pervez Raheed didn't object with Rana Sanullah's statement on 'alliance' . Rather he only objected to the statement regarding MQM's mandate.

Here read again and understand what this means.

Pervez Rasheed said that Rana Sanaullah has been conveyed to support the reconciliation process between the two parties

Reconciliation is defined as 'the restoration of friendly relations'. Actually PML-N wants reconciliation with everyone. Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan are both enemies but in the Hospital, they agreed for 'reconciliation' for national interest. Does that mean they are invited in federal government ? I don't think so.

The minister further stated that his party “highly respected” the mandate of MQM, adding that the MQM has a public confidence since long.

Technically, PML-N accepts every major party's mandate, even PPP's, PTI's and JUI-F's. Does that mean they will be invited in Federal Government ?

PML-N is playing 'pure politics'. Historically PML-N and MQM have never been together for long and you know that.

Pervaiz denies rift with nationalists over contacting MQM

ISLAMABAD - Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed insisted on Sunday the nationalist parties were not annoyed with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz for making a contact with Muttahida Qaumi Movement.
Talking to this news agency here, Rasheed clarified PML-N only asked MQM to cast vote in their presidential candidate Mamnoon's favour and that they did not offer any ministry to Muttahida. Tomorrow the nationalist parties would require MQM's vote for their prime minister.
He said Pakistan People’s Party knew the consequences of presidential elections and it would be very difficult for them to digest the results, so they boycotted the polls.
Back in 2007, when a uniformed president was contesting elections, PPP took part, but what happened now that they were deciding to keep themselves away from the presidential polls, he said while adding the boycott would leave a bad sign on the democratic face of PPP.
"No one is angry with the ruling PML-N. The prime minister is in touch with all the coalition partners .It is a routine matter that political parties meet each other. We met with MQM regarding presidential elections. We went to all political leadership including Fazlur Rehman, Aftab Sherpao, Akhtar Mangal, Pir Pagara and Mumtaz Bhutto and requested for vote,” concluded Rasheed.
Meanwhile, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that the government believed in the policy of dialogue for the promotion of democratic culture and ensuring stability of democracy and democratic institutions in the country.
He said that boycott of presidential election by the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) was against the democratic norms and principles. The Information Minister said that the government would implement decisions of the superior courts in letter and spirit. Pervaiz Rashid said that Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) believed in the politics of tolerance, political harmony and promotion of political stability in the country.
Talking to a private television channel, he said that the government would address all reservations of the opposition parties as his party welcomes the positive criticism. Replying to a question, the Information Minister said that the government desires to have consensus among all stakeholders to effectively tackle all the challenges faced by the country. He hailed the decision of Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) to support the PML-N candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
