Kudos, you wrapped up the entire argument. But might i add, Urdu speaking community is the most prosperous ethnic group in Pakistan.

If you look closely at the Private Sector in Pakistan, Urdu Speaking community generally tends to be more creative and entrepreneurial driven, that is why they have such low representation in different echelons of the State. They tend to go more towards starting their own Businesses or work in the Private Sector. This is why they are economically much more prosperous than other ethnic groups in Pakistan.

I agree with you views.
I have had a few Urdu speaking course mates, but they are rare because the trends in their families/community is tilted towards business instead of govt jobs.

I am a Urdu speaking karachiet and I hate MQM from day one and I have never experienced any discrimination. People who are not educated, don't want to work and just want government jobs (so thy don't have to work) come up with such excuses. There were examples in PakSteel an KESC when the Bamboo was given so many people showed up for work that there ere no seats available for them t sit on (all these government employees were getting paid regularly and never showed up for work for years before the amboo given by General Qamar Sabihuzaman in Pak Steel)

There is absolutely " No Discrimination " against Karachiites.

I am a living proof of that. As a " Urdu Speaking " Pakistani I have never faced any discrimination in Pakistan. I have served in the Armed Forces of Pakistan and I have life long friends from Punjab, KPK and Sindh who served with me. We are like Brothers and have a strong bond as mates. I have always been treated with utmost respect and affection by my mates from all other provinces including Punjab and KPK.

They have a REASON to do so. Pakistan was becoming Asian Tiger back in 1960s when Karachi was Capital of Pakistan and most of the Bureaucracy was located here but when it moved to Islamabad in six Years we lost East and then Corruption and Nepotism in Bureaucracy with Quota system further Deteriorated the rest and now we are standing right here. Another aspect is that Most of the Revenue comes from Karachi which are Allocated by Govt. in Budget because people here PAY TAXES way more then other parts of Pakistan(Dont get Confused by Cash inflow due to Exports and Remittances with Revenue collection through Taxes). All these things have made Karachiites Believe that.

In 1960s was Pakistan's Best Period and I am talking about Whole Pakistan not just Karachi. Todays Punjab Development doesnt seem enough to Save Pakistan Economy right now despite of all Efforts. To much Dependence on Few Industries in Export has Limited our Scope to diversify our Revenue Base. Punjab might have develop but Total GDP Contribution of Karachi is still More then 25% of total Pakistan's GDP which is $78 Billion out of some $243Billion Aprox. The Textile Exports Doesnt have significant Impact on Govt.'s Revenue Collections because they are heavily Exempted from Taxes for Promoting Exports they contributes to Cash Inflow in Pakistan Economy just like Foreign Remitances but Karachi Based Industries like Automobile, Heavy Engineering goods, Pharmaceuticals are contributing to Pakistan's Govt. Revenue directly as they are Heavily Taxed and that is another Factor which makes Karachi Total Revenue Contribution very Large.

Out of 200Million ESTIMATED Population 25Million ESTIMATED are living in Karachi which makes around 12% now. I have use the word Estimated because no Census have been Held since 1998 so we are still Estimating the Total Population of Pakistan.

As for Revenue on the basis of NFC Award the whole Budget Allocation of Sindh goes to PPP minister which is Ruling Sindh with 2/3rd Majority and you know where it goes then so Administration is another Problem and that is because of PPP and that is the reason behind Karachi Province actually so that Karachi's Part of NFC Award could be received Directly to Karachiite to spend.

They support MQM whatever happen and these operation strengthen their support more and bitter but truth AH their leader right now, they seems to not emotional but angry and frustrated, for them they have no choice left but to vote and support their community, PPP/PMLN/JI/JUI they vote and trust all before 80's but not any more, PTI umm simply destroyed by them self in Karachi, once they do have emerging support like me Gazi, Danish, batmannow etc did look toward PTI once but they turn like above I mention.
Waite till new force emerge within them more progressive more talented till than we not seeing MQM go any where.

You are correct--MQM minus Altaf Hussein is not going to disappear---. It is a party of people---very articulate people---it is going to grow and prosper when it gets to its next phase.

What it needs to do is to shake of this fear that has been forced upon it---the fear that everything is lost without Altaf Hussein----. That fear has been instilled by Altaf Hussein for personal gains and power---ruthless and brutal power.

The saving grace about MQM is that at the lower level---this members are ready to listen---learn and follow---but it has to survive the current leadership crisis and the members need to understand that the change is coming----but the problem is who is going to tell them and who are they going to believe in and what will stop them from tearing up the messenger.

The best and ideal solution would be for Altaf Hussein to give the reigns of his kingdom away to someone else. For the better future of Mohajjir community---Altaf Hussein will have to forgo his position of power and go into permanent retirement and let the party move ahead with changing times.

The thing is that it s going to happen----one way or the other----there are no ifs and buts about the coming change---it is inevitable---what the mohajjirs have to decide is that how do they want to come out of this crisis----like in smelling like roses or dragged in filth and dirt.

They were well warse in Gorilla Warfare as they fought against Bangali Insurgency on Behalf of Pakistan and they used lot of Unorthodox tactics in fighting against Bangali Insurgents along side Pakistan Army in 1971. They could have been an ASSETS for Pakistan Military as they could have played their Part in Unconventional and Unorthodox Gorilla Based Tactics but our Establishment couldnt able to Utilize their Experience during 1971. Later when MQM came in they started Joining it and Provides most of what they knew to MQM and this is how MQM Created Most ORGANIZED Movement and also ALLEGEDLY most Organized Militant Group of their own. Some of MQM's Founding Members were Biharis like Ishratul Ibad, Imran Farooq and maybe Saleem Shehzad as well.

Only if Pakistan Establishment had Utilized their Potential Before MQM then today MQM would have been History in 1990s as Pro Establishment Bihari would be bigger threat to MQM then Establishment itself but now sadly MQM has LEARNED more then enough from them already and they Are IMPROVING their Survivability by working Alongside with them Closely.
