Greek leadership either forced or willingly submitted to American demands, FM Lavrov says​

Russia on Monday warned Greece over its "anti-Russian actions," saying American meddling has affected bilateral relations.

Remarking that Russia and Greece used to be friends, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Greek leadership was either forced or it willingly submitted to American demands.

“The speed with which they switched not only to the camp of those who signed the sanctions but to the group leading anti-Russia actions was odd. It reflects the imposed line of aggressive opposition and not the interest of the Greeks,” the Russian Embassy in Athens quoted Lavrov as saying on Twitter.

“We drew our conclusions about those who so happily supported aggression against Russia,” Lavrov said.

Greece has condemned Russia, and joined Western sanctions for its war on Ukraine, which started last February.

Yes,we used to be friends and then Russia sold S-400s to Turkey,started cooperating with Erdogan and wants to build two nuclear plants in Turkey. And when we talked about the S-400s,Lavrov and the other Russians were like "Greece shouldn't worry,as this system is purely defensive". But now they don't want us to give the S-300PMU1 to Ukraine.

Greeks were also disappointed by how Russia didn't protect Armenia. There was and probably still is an attempt for the Moscow Patriarchy to gain more influence against traditionally "Greek" Patriarchy territories,like Jerusalem,Alexandria,maybe Antiochia etc.

Seeing all these,it's no wonder we were skeptical about them after the war started.

Because the others are sending them without preconditions? Czechoslovakia, Poland,Slovenia,Bulgaria and others. They're all emptying their warehouses, giving all their stock to Ukraine to get better weapons.

Besides, weren't you calling Zelensky a spoiled child for asking for weapons, seems you weren't all too keen to provide him with weapons. We have elections in March and they can't risk pissing off a lot of people.
