Before you cruicify DV perhaps i can clarify a few points.
Though he could have phrased it a different way i think i understand his point. A lot of the new immigrants are Chechens and from similar areas, they dont have paper cant get a decent job end up with lousy pay and living in over crowded conditions.
End result they hate being in Moscow but because they are making more than they could at home they stay at least for a while.
Living some where you hate you dont care about the city, areas end up looking like slums Muscovites resent it. Add in that people earning what is really less than they need to survive in Moscow many end up in crime and you get resentment of the newcomers, not because they are Muslim but because they are outsiders trapped in a vice between poverty at home and the rules of moving to Moscow.
Precisely. It is a socio-economic condition repeated around the world in low paid migrant ghettos, regardless of religion.
However, it is fashionable to be intellectually lazy and to make it a 'Muslim' issue.
