I dont know but I never liked Isckon. I always felt they are doing business on the name of devotion and do more of shosha and dramebaaji.
But would still give them credit to expand Hinduism in west.

They are a non-profit organisation but they are very rich, the money they collect is used to expand the group but that is no different to the Swaminarayan's who are a billion $ entity and the richest of all Hindu groups

I belong to none of them and just have my own views but I will respect them all as they are doing good work and promoting our dharma.

This was a interesting docu but some of the reporting was one sided for sure.

I share the same feeling... also I dont feel comfortable about the bhaktivedanta guy...and his photo being everywhere..
it is a sect ... most Indian hindu will get instantly what I am saying.

In the video they refer to him as one but Lord Swaminararyan who was born in Gujarat is seen as a Avatar by his followers

there is even a Swaminarayan mandir in Karachi I believe

Not disrespecting him or his followers but you can't just combine all the 'good' things of all religions(as one of his followers claim in the video) and become a HINDU god.....
Hinduism is the oldest religion for god's sake.....other religions are inspired by its ideas/teachings.......
In search for Hinduism, the guy actually documented 'Swaminarayanism'....IMHO.

Each to their own I say as long as we do not fight or harm innocent people. The one thing I am really against is caste discrimination and I must commend RSS for uniting everyone and welcoming all castes of Hinduism.

You didn't get my point, my objection was mainly because his followers claim he combined 'good' things from different religions....like the 10-commandments of Christianity....then how can he be associated specifically to Hinduism....

This is different from other religious leaders like Guru Nanak,Gautama Buddha etc......they had their own unique ideas based on Hinduism only.....so I have no problem regarding them as Hindu gods even though their followers might not agree with me....but from my side I'm open....

@AUS the orthodox church in Russia still holds so much power and is fearful of other religions/sects moving into it's backyard so it plays the politics card to try to safeguard it's interests.

There are over millions of gods in hinduism, I doubt you even heard of 1000 of them.
