*** Most interesting in the matter is the official recognition for the first time of the existence of a Moroccan research center to develop and manufacture 4.0 technology..

And there is another center being built in Fez at the Euro-Mediterranean University.. (On April 5, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Digital Technologies, the Digital Development Agency (DDA), the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez (UEMF) and the Fez Smart Factory signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for its implementation. And to promote the state of automation in Morocco.)

Very few countries are participating in the 4.0 technology revolution

Also..Yesterday, the Fourth Industrial Revolution Capabilities Center was inaugurated in Saudi Arabia in the Second Industrial City..

The nice thing is that all the recent military deals concluded by Morocco are conditional on technology transfer and industrial compensation within the framework of offset programmes..

Now Morocco has SABCA factory for F-16 and transport aircraft.. And Boeing for the Apache..

Today, Thursday, the Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry, Nir Barkat, inaugurated the Israeli pavilion at the International Forum for Agriculture, and toured the exhibition space, accompanied by the head of the Israeli Liaison Office in Rabat, Shai Cohen, and a high-ranking diplomatic delegation to support the Israeli companies participating in the activities of this international event.

Nir Berkan said that his country is studying with the Moroccan government to develop food production projects in the desert using biotechnology, an area in which Israel is considered a pioneer.

“We all know that food security and agriculture are a big challenge in Morocco and in Israel as well,” said the Israeli minister. Here we see desert areas in a country where we can develop agricultural projects in a smart way. "We want to start from here."

The Israeli official cited, for example, his country's experience in the Negev desert in southern Israel, which succeeded in cultivating these arid areas in which, according to the minister, a large number of investors are active.

Nir Barakat, who met his Moroccan counterpart Riad Mazour and Agriculture Minister Mohamed Siddiqui, confirmed that Morocco is a gateway for Israeli investment in Africa.

He noted that the two countries can enhance their cooperation to address common challenges in agriculture, especially in drip irrigation and seawater desalination projects to combat water shortages.

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX company, announced today that it will launch a subsidiary, Pratt & Whitney Maroc (PWM), in Casablanca, to manufacture detailed mechanical and structural stator parts for various engine models.
Future Pratt & Whitney Maroc (PWM) facility in Casablanca.

This investment is key to Pratt & Whitney's strategy to develop cost-effective sourcing capabilities for competitive advantage and to improve the impact of operations and asset utilization. Morocco was chosen after a global benchmarking exercise because of its growing airline hub, cost of business and available trained talent.

"Morocco offers many benefits to the aerospace industry," said Maria Della Posta, president of Canada's Pratt & Whitney. “Casablanca's growing aviation community ensures a highly valued talent pool, positive economic environment, and support from the Moroccan government. As an independent subsidiary, Pratt & Whitney Maroc will create 200 jobs by 2030, and we look forward to joining the business community in the region. MidParc Free Casablanca".

“P&W’s investment in Morocco will enhance our space ecosystem by promoting innovation, research and development of new technologies,” said the representative of the Moroccan Ministry of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policy (MICEPP). “It will create job opportunities for our talented yo
uth, promote knowledge transfer, and enhance cooperation between local and international stakeholders.”

This new 130,000 square foot facility will be built on lean principles and the CORE methodology to drive efficiency, quality and reduce costs. This investment is a vital part of the company's ability to produce engines to meet strong demand and bring Pratt & Whitney closer to its African customer base and partners, allowing it to continue to support aviation growth in this region. Construction of the facility will begin in the fourth quarter of 2023 to ensure a successful launch in 2025.

After a successful visit to China, Morocco is studying the option of nuclear energy

2023-09-07

A Moroccan delegation of 200 people visited the Changjiang Nuclear Power Plant in Hainan Province, southern China, in a move that indicates Morocco’s growing interest in nuclear energy, according to what was reported by “Lodisk” magazine.

The station includes the Linlong 1 reactor, the world's first commercial small nuclear reactor, which is currently undergoing the final testing stages.

The Moroccan delegation was led by the former Director General of the Moroccan Agency for Security and Safety in the Nuclear and Radiological Fields, Khimar Mrabet, who described the project as “an example of organization and efficiency.”

He added that China “has made great progress in the field of nuclear energy, including in the field of small reactors.”

Mrabet said that Morocco is “carefully” studying the option of nuclear energy, noting that it “faces legal and technical challenges” in this area, adding that “the final decision has not yet been made.”

“Linlong 1” is a small, multi-functional, multi-purpose pressure reactor, developed by a Chinese nuclear group with independent intellectual rights. It is the first small local commercial unit in the world.

“Linlong 1” trial work began on July 13, 2021, a total period of 58 months. Featuring high safety, short construction cycle, and flexible deployment, the small reactor can be a distributed energy source and also cover multiple uses such as seawater desalination, regional heating, and industrial heating.

The capacity of each Linlong 1 unit is 125,000 kilowatts, and the power generation capacity will reach one billion degrees in the year following its construction.

This type of reactor is suitable for cities with a relatively small electrical network.

Moroccan interest in nuclear energy comes at a time when the Kingdom seeks to diversify its energy mix and increase its independence from foreign energy sources.

Solar and wind energy are the main sources of renewable energy in Morocco, but they cannot provide the energy needed for economic growth and development.

Experts believe that nuclear energy can play an important role in securing energy for the Kingdom and providing safe alternatives to fossil fuels.
