Most of rural Afghanistan has come under Taliban control since the departure of foreign forces. ANDSF and local militias have mostly melted, there are still some pockets of resistance by them. The Afghan Govt seems to be focusing on the security of the big cities at the moment, some of which are been encircled by the Taliban as we speak. The Taliban have gained in terms of manpower, resources, logistics, Military hardware and ammunition in few weeks.
Analyst Bill Roggio of Longwall journal has been monitoring minutely of the events in Afghanistan.

All these factors are just delusional dreams to say the least. Afghanistan is an independent and sovereign state. How can Pakistan annex that country by force? The enemies of Pakistan would love to trap us in Afghanistan to revenge their own defeat and humiliation in that country. Afghanistan has historically proven itself as a graveyard of superpowers. Pakistan is neither a superpower nor dreams like one. All we need is a friendly, peaceful, and prosperous Afghanistan.

I think Afghanistan is leading towards civil war and ethnic war and God forbid there is a great danger of regular bomb blasts in Pakistan as unstable Afghanistan has always led to chaos in Pakistan

My suspicion is US did this on purpose to destabilize the region further
