It was really nice to see Mr. Nawaz take that extra leap.
1. Accepting the invitation and comming insipe of all the preasure from his Army and political opponents.
2. Not bringing-up the "k" word anywhere in the media.
3. Not meeting up with the separatist groups like every other PM of Pakistan.
I liked the way he conducted himself and his image has grown 10 folds.
I would like to see my PM resiprocate.

The Prime Minister of India has acceptability in every corner of the world.
Every country from China to Japan to US is eager to host Modi. That happens not because of individuals but because of the stature of the nation.
You can have nelson mandela as the PM of Pakistan but he would still be treated with contempt in the global capitals and told to do more on terrorism. Its the stature of the nation which brings credibility.

That's because uncalled adventure of Indian Army in Siachin. When Pakistan totally trust Indian side and leave the post open. Pak Army was busy on Afghan front. Well............now water issue...

Modi is right when he said NS is a man of peace because he is the guy who started saying right things during and after his election. MMS was no way able to reciprocate.
However that allowed a right wing modi to start immediate contact at highest level.
If in future we get lasting peace, I will give more credit to NS for sticking his neck out.

Modi conveys militancy concerns
Earlier, the Indian foreign secretary said in a press statement that Modi also “underlined our concerns related to terrorism.”
“We want peaceful and friendly relations with Pakistan, however for such relations to proceed, it is important that terror and violence is brought to an end,” Singh said.
She added that Modi conveyed that Islamabad needed to “abide by its commitment to prevent its territory and territory it controls being used to stage terror attacks on India”.
According to the Indian foreign secretary, Modi also underlined his desire to improve commercial ties between the countries, a focus of efforts under the previous government.
“There was discussion on trade and we noted that we were fully ready to fully normalise trade and economic relations. Both prime ministers expressed their interest in having this done as early as possible,” Singh said.

First day in the job, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday asked his Pakistan counterpart Nawaz Sharif to clamp down on terror and fast track trade to bridge the trust deficit between the two neighbours.

A day after he was sworn in as India’s 15th PM, Modi had a packed day, meeting leaders of Saarc countries invited to his oath ceremony but it was his afternoon meeting with Sharif at Hyderabad House that was closely watched.
“The Prime Minister clearly articulated all our concerns over terrorism,” foreign secretary Sujatha Singh said. “It was conveyed that Pakistan must abide by its commitment to prevent its territory and territory under its control from being used for terrorism against India.”

The two leaders shook hands and smiled for cameras before heading into the meeting at Hyderabad House. At the 44-minute meeting that ran overtime, Modi also raised concerns over the slow progress in the trial of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused even as both leaders agreed on foreign secretaries keeping in touch with each other to bring the stalled dialogue process back on track.
A forward movement in the trial would give the government necessary political capital at home to move ahead. When in opposition, the BJP had taken a hard line on talks with Pakistan.
Modi’s decision –- a first for India -- to invite leaders of all seven South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation countries for the swearing-in has been read as an attempt to reach out to neighbours.
India is the eighth member-country of the grouping. Mauritius, too, was on the guest list.
Modi told Sharif the two countries could immediately move towards normalisation of trade. Pakistan delay in granting India the most-favoured nation status, too, came up.
“There was discussion on trade and we noted we were fully ready to fully normalise trade and economic relations,” Singh said.
Sharif talked about the clear mandate both the governments had while calling for breaking new grounds and ending mistrust between the two sides.
“Prime Minister Modi warmly reciprocated my sentiments. He stated that it was incumbent on both of us to work together, to achieve our common objectives for peace and development,” Sharif, who took three days to decide on oath ceremony invite, told mediapersons.
They had agreed that foreign secretaries would meet soon to review and carry forward “our bilateral agenda”, said Sharif who left for Pakistan in the evening.
Indian side, said sources, was pleased that the Pakistan PM didn’t meet Hurriyat leaders and also didn’t rake up controversial issues like Kashmir.

The Narendra Modi government had a stormy start on Tuesday after minister of state in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Jitendra Singh claimed that the process to repeal Article 370 — which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) — had begun.
“The process of repealing Article 370 has started. We are speaking to the stakeholders,” Singh told a private news channel.
The remark drew sharp reactions with J&K chief minister Omar Abdullah saying that Article 370 was the only constitutional link between J&K and rest of India. “Long after Modi government is a distant memory, either J&K won’t be part of India or Art 370 will still exist,” Abdullah tweeted.
As controversy raged over the Udhampur MP’s comments, the BJP chose to downplay the incident with law minister Ravishankar Prasad saying, “He might have said this but the government will take a structured view.”
Singh himself issued a clarification that said, “The reports in the media about my statement on Article 370 are misquoted. I have never said anything quoting the honourable PM. The controversy is totally baseless.”
However, in Kashmir, parties cutting across the political divide criticised his comments with CM Omar Abdullah saying that Article 370 cannot be ‘legally revoked and no government at the Centre can do it’.
“Article 370 has been ratified by a constitutional committee of the state which no longer exists. To revoke it, one needs to recall the constitutional committee that cannot be done without questioning Kashmir’s accession to India. Is the BJP ready to do that?’” Omar told HT.
People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti, whose party won 3 of the 6 Lok Sabha seats in the state, told HT, “The PM should tell his ministers not to have their foot in mouth and not speak out of turn. If the BJP believes in revoking Article 370, the PDP would be the first to react.”
The separatists, however, weren’t as forthcoming.
“This does not interest us as we question the very fact that Kashmir is part of India,’’ said Ayaz Akbar, spokesperson of the Hurriyat Conference.
Earlier in the day, Singh had reportedly said that PM Modi wanted a debate to convince people of the disadvantages of Article 370.
The 57-year-old BJP leader who defeated Congress’ Ghulam Nabi Azad, described Article 370 as a ‘psychological barrier’.
“The PM said we want to have a debate. This doesn’t mean we want to have a debate because certain sections of the media interpreted that the PM deviated from his stand. It’s not so. He said so with respect to the highest values of democratic system,” Singh had allegedly argued
