MoD backs indigenous HAL trainer, air force to visit HAL for discussions

The fundamental flaw is not in making of any jet but in the way PSUs function.

All this can change if the GOI removes the 'job gaarentee' clause and associates it with performance and productivity. Simple.

Those who protest, fire them.

It is heartless decision, but if we have to become a world power, some steps have to be taken like that.

Accountability is the key here. Defence PSUs though catering to a very limited customer base, have huge responsibilities on their shoulders. In a country like ours where supporting industry isn't in a good shape to support niche areas of high end defence research and production, one can tolerate a few failures and delays. But once it becomes a norm, you got to get the system corrected.

only way is to give them a dose of privatization

u can't really fire a govt employee.......u just can't!!

Dear bhai, Hitler said that Third Reich cannot be defeated for a thousand years and at that time people believed it. But what was impossible then, was done and shown to the world for the better. If we have to save the country for the better, nepotism and sloppy work has to be targeted.

Put it this way: the delicious rice and chapattis that you eat come from the quality of seed that the farmer sows in his farmlands. He sows them, nurtures them, works off his body and mind on it, takes care of them from pests and insects and when the time is ripe, he collects the harvest and sells it, resulting in us getting to eat good food and also exporting, for the sake of economy.

Now if this farmer had not sown the seeds in time, had not worked hard with his blood and sweat, had not protected the saplings and smaller shoots growing from pests, what would we have eaten? Could he have said that he is of a backward community or of a selected community and therefore is allowed to earn without working?

No right? :)

We all have to change this mentality.

Well, it has become a norm and delays is the fashion word for PSUs.

If we were a far off place like Australia where there are less people, lots of resources and zero enemies, these delays could be acceptable as we would have then had the leverage. But in our neighbourhood and even within the country, we don't have that leverage.
