Missile shield for Gulf to take years, and heavy US commitment

It does not say anywhere that it will be linked to the US EW network.. this will also be part of the GCC missile Shield..

SM-2/3/6 is what they want..
The Raytheon Company, a major US defense contractor, was also awarded a $2.4 billion contract in December 2014 to build Qatar an Air and Missile Defense Operations Centre (ADOC) that it said will "integrate US air defense systems — including Patriot, the Early Warning Radar, and THAAD — with European air defense systems and radars, and Qatar's Air Operation Centre."

SM3 is NOT available for export.
Aegis BMD has worked closely with Japan since 1999 to design and develop advanced components for the SM-3 missile.

In December 2003, through a formal Cabinet Decision, the Government of Japan became the first ally to decide to proceed with the acquisition of a multi-layered BMD system, basing its initial capability on upgrades of its Aegis Destroyers and acquisition of the SM-3 missile. The two nations began the research program in 1999 for a system to launch interceptors from Aegis destroyers. Japan has spent 15.6 billion yen up to fiscal 2003. The AEGIS Weapon System and Standard missiles will be used on JMSDF ships and will provide, in concert with JSDF PAC-3 Patriot missiles, the initial ballistic missile defense for mainland Japan. Japan already has the upgraded AEGIS Weapon System and SM-3 Block IA Standard missiles in its inventory and will have no difficulty absorbing the additional upgraded Weapon System and missiles.

On 5 May 2004, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Japan of SM-3 Block 1A Standard Missiles as well as associated equipment and services. The total value, if all options are exercised, could be as high as $725 million. The Government of Japan has requested a possible sale of nine SM-3 Block 1A Standard missiles with MK 21 Mod 2 canisters, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) upgrades to one AEGIS Weapon System, AEGIS BMD Vertical Launch System ORDALTs, containers, spare and repair parts, supply support, U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance and other related elements of logistics support. Japan will use the Standard missiles to update older or less reliable missiles currently in the Japan Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) fleet. The AEGIS Weapon System and Standard missiles will be used on JMSDF ships. The purchaser, who already has missiles in its inventory, will have no difficulty absorbing these additional missiles.

On 29 June 2005, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency notified Congress of a possible Foreign Military Sale to Japan of nine SM-3 Block IA Standard missiles with MK 21 Mod 2 canisters, as well as associated equipment and services. The total value, if all options are exercised, could be as high as $387 million. The Government of Japan has requested a possible sale of nine SM-3 Block IA Standard missiles with MK 21 Mod 2 canisters, Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) upgrades to one AEGIS Weapon System, AEGIS BMD Vertical Launch System ORDALTs, containers, spare and repair parts, publications, documentation, supply support, U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance and other related elements of logistics support. The estimated cost is $387 million.

It is to be understood as what GCC has and will have, a.k.a, US made Patriot, the new Early Warning Radar and THAAD with European made air defense systems and radars and Qatar's Air Operation Centre all integrated through ADOC..

It is to be seen in the ovrall context of the Missile shield for Gulf.. (GCC)

rubbish do you honestly believe the usa would install a highly powerfull radar and only let the gcc use it and not connect it to europe and the usa? iran is at max a 1000km away from qatar yet this radar has a range of 5000km? explain that?

The Range of the radar can be adjusted, this one for Qatar has no more 2000/ 3000 km..
GCC is not Japan nor Germany who come under US protection and have to kink their systems to the US one.. GCC wants the tech and is ready to pay a high price for it, but integration with US or European systems in the US or Europe will be minimal, the main objective of the GCC is to have an independent missile shield, although it can work with the US in special circumstances..

We might differ in opinion on this, so let's wait and see..

its quiet clear you bring no sensible counter argument here. your purpose is to please the gcc states at your expense and loss whilst they dont care. i bet you think the uae and pakistan are allies and are "ummah" brothers

im done talking to you

Do not get personal please, there are no arguments about speculations, put that in your brain!
Why should I try to please anyone? these matters are being discussed all over the place, they bring no result, since they are all based on speculations and then personal opinions, so, refrain from this talk till we see the outcome.. and again do not troll, nor get personal..
And your purpose is to please the US and Europe? non-sense

What justifies the US monitoring the whole planet? does everyone wants to attack them?

you said not avaliable for for export, not to the gcc.
ask trump nicely, he may say yes

From the perspective of unit cost, logistics, and interoperability, it would be very silly to not make SM-6 and SM3 available to allied navies that operate AEGIS-equipped ships (Australia, Japan, South Korea, Spain. Norway), ships with other AAW/BMD-capable systems that presently control e.g. SM2 Block IIIC/IV (Denmark, Germany, Netherlands) or that could otherwise support these two new missiles [but presently support missiles like Aster 15/30]. (France/Italy [Horizon class with S1850M, possible Thales Herakles or Selex Kronos/MFRA equipped FREMM/FREDA's), UK (Daring class with S1850M), maybe even Singapore [Formidable class > Thales Herakles radar] ) or Saudi Arabia (Al Riyadh class, if provided new volume search radar). I would think Herakles and Kronos equipped ships could work with SM-6 but have some doubts about them supporting SM-3.

No of course it's not for Qatar or GCC, it's for the US, expansion of their bases in the GCC. They just make it look like a sale to cover that up. US presence in the GCC includes some of their strategic assets like B-52/B1, 5th fleet and F-22's in the UAE, not a surprise they seek radar coverage and missile shields.

What do you base that on?

Even if we assume that you are right, that rader coverage and those missile shields will be part of the GCC's arsenal and operated by them. Jointly or not.
