Military helicopter crash in Mansehra kills at least nine

PESHAWAR: A military helicopter crashed in Srikot area of Mansehra district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing at least nine people Thursday evening.
Mansehra District Police Officer Najeebur Rehman confirmed the incident, saying at least nine people onboard the copter had died. He said relief and rescue teams are on their way to the crash site.
According to an ISPR official, the helicopter, which was carrying medical supplies, had taken off from Chaklala, Rawalpindi, and was on its way to Gilgit.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani also confirmed that the crashed helicopter belonged to the army, adding that the site of the crash was a mountainous area, which could hamper rescue efforts.

Earlier today, a Pakistan Air Force helicopter, engaged in relief and rescue efforts, crashed in the Khot area of upper Chitral, injuring several people.
According to sources, the helicopter was being used to conduct rescue and relief operations in the flood affected district of Chitral.
