You people have habit of dozen crashes per year so when bit lesser number crash you start sounding Band Baja to celebrate World class safety record of IAF.

It 9 months in 2016 its Just third crash this year
Not forget We adding A squadron of MKI each year

And 15 Junk Squadrons (not counting Jaguar 5 squadrons) out of 32 in total does make a "huge part" ..... Don't you think?

If we Lose Even 2 Mig-21 Rate per year We can Still Effectively operate them in Next 2 decades

Tejas is at fault

The programme has been running for decades, its purpose was supposed to replace all this junk flying in the IAF but the Tejas programme has been such a joke with so many delays that induction has been pushed back years if not decades forcing india to keep this crap flying

If india had spent money on buying a alternative to replace these flying coffins then Tejas programme would have been severely hit

Tejas has scewed india on so many levels, so many times and wasted so much resources. It should be awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan

Tejas was not a failure and never will be. All the countries who are designing air crafts have decades of experience from WWII. Only a few countries have the capability to develop a fighter. The experience from tejas will never be a faliure. It will get better or the problems faced will help future designs.

By the way you should start with moped engines, scooter engines, railway engines before boasting about fighter jets. Inspite of foreign systems Tejas is our first step into this world of cutting edge technology. I always wonder a nation which cannot manufacture simple car engines and whose railway are going defunct have the audacity to criticize the Tejas. First let your country start the development of a fighter then talk. And don't mention JF17 it is Chinese design. If you do then mention the Pakistani contribution specifically and not assembling. India has been doing that for mig 21 and su30 for decades. Maybe India can learn something from Pakistan aerospace engineers.

Issue is not so black and white. Who are these jets for - in the end our farmers as much as our middle class and industrialists.

The sad thing was if these 70,000 crores would have gone to poor and deserving farmers then UPA would have got all my love but instead poor kept committing suicide and it was the rich fat farmers of Haryana and Punjab who got the govt money and bought mercs and bmws for their rapists sons.

Even for poor, loan waiver sets an extremely bad precedence. It encourages uncontrolled borrowing for sake of conspicuous consumption in hopes that they would not have to pay them back thus bankrupting banks in the process.

Today cooperative farming sector of India is practically non-existent and whatever exists, exist for sake of swindling government money. Though this was not the case since start. In 1970s and 1980s, India had a decent cooperative sector, but it was destroyed by loan waiver program of VP singh.

In India ,only Dairy (Amul, mother dairy) sector has some success in form of cooperatives, compared to Israel and Denmark where farming is most cooperative based.

More importantly Pakistan has seen almost twice the fatalities in fighter jet crashes than India in this period.

As you have quoted @Tipu7 so he knows his point though you tagged me, I just want to say that Bird Hits are not technical failures nor of maintenance disaster and cannot be blamed to an AF either PAF or IAF so now you can sort the list.

IMO, there is another factor that what type of tech is operated which resulted in failure like the bird is from 70's or 80's era that old gen is with more chances of incidents and if this is the case then question arises what measures are taken to reduce, minimize or bring to Zero count.

Issues in Indian agriculture is not borrowing and subsidy but fragmented landholdings. Even with borrowings poor farmers in far off villages are hardly covered.

As much as it's require to buy jets same money also required to spend on forms so u can buy the stuff
