MiG To Sign MiG-35 Fighter Contract With Russian Defense Ministry

View attachment 292396

MIG-35 produces 2,840 more pound-forces of thrust per engine than RAFALE.

To be continued in the next post...

the major difference is the weapon stations, Rafale got 14 whereas Mig-35 got only 9. Rafale can have more arms(weight). Even F-16 got more.

There is not much value addition by Mig-35 to PAF(except range). Had Migs got at least 12 hard points with this range, its okay.

Going back to the original posts, what suggest PAF is even considering Mig-35?
Its interest in further JF-17 and PAF specific J-10B version on the other hand is well documented.

As for the Mig-35 being mature, how many operational again? How many ordered?
  • First flight 2007
  • In April 2015, Egypt signed a contract, worth up to $2 billion, for 50 MiG-35 fighters.
  • In August 2015, Colonel General Viktor Bondarev, commander of Russia’s Air and Space Forces stated that MiG-35 development is to be completed in 2017; entry into service is to follow in 2018.

As for J-10 maturity:
  • Total J-10s produced and in service to date (all variants): over 264
  • J-10B/C first flight occurred no later than December 2008.
  • J-10B has being flying with an upgraded WS-10 engine since early 2015.
  • F-10 Vanguard, export variant of the J-10B for the Pakistan Air Force, first flight in 2009.

No I never stated that PAF is pursuing MIG-35 option.

There were reports sometime back that PAF and Russia are in talks on SU-35s. When compared to SU-35s, I think MIG-35s may have a better chance.

With regards to J-10s, there are more questions than answers on why the deal between China and Pakistan has not taken place yet. Has Russia declined the engine? Does PAF not have faith in the Chinese Engine?

MIG-35 is an upgrade of MIG-29. What is J-10 based on?

Work on Project #10 started several years later in January 1988, as a response to the Mikoyan MiG-29 and Sukhoi Su-27 then being introduced by the USSR, and F-15, F-16 being introduced by the USA. In 2006, the Russian Siberian Aeronautical Research Institute (SibNIA) confirmed its participation in the J-10 program; it claimed to have only observed and instructed as "scientific guides", while its engineers also believed the J-10 was "more or less a version" of the Lavi design, incorporating "a melting pot of foreign technology and acquired design methods".

But what does that have to do with anything? On what is e.g. Gripen or Typhoon based?

So you believe that Chinese Aero Industry is as matured as UK & Germany?

The problem of the MiG-35 is its radar, Zhuk-A. For foreign customers, Zhuk-AE is ready. However, the Russian Air Force unwilling to Zhuk-AE, they need is a modification of A. Export modification radar is always worse. Excluding one. Radar for the Su-30MK for Algeria has the same characteristics as for the Russian Army. Very hard contact was. They are not udovoletvoryal Su-30MKI for India. Even China has received for the part of the Su-30MKK.
Foreign customers do not want to buy an airplane that is not on the arms of the Russian Federation Air Force. A vicious circle .
MiG-29M2 can not be updated in a real MiG-35. Therefore MiG Corporation has gone to deceive, and the exhibition has changed the name of the MiG-29M2 on the MiG-35.
That's only recently the Russian Air Force still ordered a MiG-35 with the new radar. Therefore, the MiG-29M2 back again real name :)
Here such here Drammen occur for a place under soltse.
