PAF should consider MIG 35 for G5 fighter plan because of reliability , in built radar BVR missile capability to detect 30 enemy plan, efficiency ,low cost and long service hours .

Mig 29 series has had its reputation soiled. Early versions had major problems with the alloys used to make them which led to low air frame life. The issues may be fixed now but it better for PAF to focus on JF-17 series and AZM. We may be able to get 5 gen fighters from China or Turkey in the future.

what parameter r u using in determining reliability? any idea on number of flight hours between overhauls, number of engine cycle chnage, cost per flight etc ???

Its just an upgraded mig 29 cant even compete with f16 block 52 of PAF which are 10 years old now.

This is not worth the precious and very less money of pakistan.

No chance place for such crappy and twin engined crap in PAF.

Only things i see coming into pakistan air force are

JF-17 block 3
JF-17 B
Sukhoi twin engine 4.5 gen+ fighter

I think we should just weight for project azm....if india makes a decision on its purchase then things like saabs and used f16s will become available. Jf17 block 3 will handle anything india has but is we can buy grippen with tech transfer then we will have east west tech mix for azm

As a Turk, of course I'd love to see our Pakistani brothers join the TF-X program as a full and equal member with all the IP rights and TOT, similar to the Milgem/Ada-class contract. That way we'll always have spare parts and a very wide range of weapons availability, not to mention 'economies of scale' making everything cheaper for both countries. Together, we're stronger.

Before relations with the US went south over their Middle East policy, the idea was to use the F-35 as a predominantly air-to-ground strike fighter while the TF-X functioned as an air superiority interceptor and provided aerial cover. Now that Turkey's not getting the F-35, its roles are redistributed among the TF-X, Hurjet, F-16s, and various UAV/UCAVs.
