MiG-21s & F-7s Specifications & Capabilities

JH 7 A2A capabilities are pathetic. They are not agile enough. Mere bomb trucks may be afforded by big navies not good for PN use. The Su35 or J series are viable options for Pak if available.
JH-7B is not a dog fighter to be agile, its more of a bomber which will carry enough weapons, however all bomber will accompanied by other fighters like F-16 to protect him.

Sir,

That is all you have to say against the aircraft in all your posts---you have learnt nothing else to say----.

You are totally clueless as to what the A2A capabilities can be with modern day fire control radar---state of the art ECM package----capable BVR-WVR missiles and HOBS missiles---anti radiation paint.

This " Current Weapons & Electronic Technology Revolution " is of the same scale in this part of the 21st century as compared to when the AK47 became THE EQUALIZER WEAPON of the 20th century in the last century---.
Dear Sir difference of opinion always brings betterment with due respect u require out of box thinking. If Jh7 was so good why not chosen by PN/PAF for naval duties. They look to be inclined towards Su35.
Still China has limitations so they can't bring growlers over night.

In case of deep strike missions the F16 can't go to end further we still have limited F16s.

Hi,

Difference of opinion needs to have some substance and material behind it to substantiate what you want to say.

It is not a matter of being good---it is a matter of what you can make out of it with your experties----.

You made something out of an F7M to an F7PG---with alomst overall 50% better performance---and specially on a frame that had very limited options for modification.

Paf is ruled by fighter mafia---that is why you don't see the heavies.

If reports are correct IAF is facing hard time to take the heat within their side of the border. What'll happen if they cross over to Pak side? Beam Sura Al-Bakara and Ya-Sin onto the intruding fighters, provided done with Iman-i Kamil, and enjoy the show..

JH-7B would have to be a stand-off only platform, but it has the payload and size power to inflict heavy damage. Any investment in this platform absolutely needs commensurate investment in longer-range ALCMs. I'd still prefer Su-34 though.

Comparing Su-30MKIs to F-16 was as hilarious as it was but, now they're comparing F-22 and Su-30MKIS to Mig-21s?

Bear in mind both the planes have same country of origin and 50 years technology gap. In today's world where modern algorithms, fly-by-wire avionics and FADEC systems, BVR missiles, AESA/PESA (still a very good radar) radars, electronic warfare suits and countermeasures have taken over pilot's job, these guys believe their Migs from biblical times can intercept Su-30MKIs. :disagree:

During this period PAF flew day night CAPs over vital points and areas. These sorties boosted the morale of the public which was hit hard by the terrorist attacks and inflation. The spirit of 1965 was felt when PAF jets roared above the public. These sorties demoralized the IAF which expected a walk in the park, when it planned for the strikes in Pakistan airspace. IAF CAS on a couple of occasions mentioned that he is quite disturbed with PAF aircraft flowing close to the border in battle formations giving an aggressive posture. The Indian war rhetoric failed to impress Pakistan. Instead, the focus shifted to Indian intelligence agencies’ failure to put together credible evidence implicating Pakistan in the Mumbai attacks.

Thus after February 2009, India decided to end the conflict and switched back to the old routine of blaming Pakistan using their media.

On 20th February 2009, F-7MPs from Chaklala were seen returning to their peacetime positions indicating an end to the military standoff.
Exercise Iron Falcon 2009
Exercise Iron Falcon are military aerial training exercises at United Arab Emirates Air Warfare Center UAEAWC. Various squadrons from various US Air Forces Bases and Coalition Forces participated in these exercises at various times.

USAF F-22 Raptors made their first appearance in the Middle East at the UAEAWC from November until December 10th. Six Raptors and their support unit from the 1st Fighter Wing at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia performed bilateral training their coalitions partners.

The exercise was designed to bring together Gulf Cooperation Council nations and other countries to strengthen military-to-military relationships, promote regional security, improve combined tactical air operations, and enhance interoperability of forces, equipment and procedures.

During the same period, F-22s participated in bilateral training opportunities with coalition partners. Special feature of this excercise was the participation of PAF F-7PGs along with RJAF F-16A and UAEF F-16E Block-60 and Mirage-2000. PAF F-7PG pilot got the opportunity to practice extensively against the Raptors as well as the Block-60 Vipers.

It was the morale of the PAF pilots, i have described at the start of this article, that they opt to face the Raptor in F-7PG. Though outclassed by the Raptors, they gained alot of appreciation by the Raptor pilots. This describes the morale and the guts of PAF pilots which primarily train to counter the threat posed by Su-30MKI (termed invincible by the Indians).

It's like seventeen horsemen set out to conquer Bengal, or collecting few thousand folks from here and there and planning to conquer Hindistan. How moronic of them, even Don Quixote would be ashamed of them - no wonder Indian participants in this forum get mad. It's understandable.

(For Ehl-i Iman only) Success and failures are from Allah-u Azimushshan. It' a part of Baht of a person or a nation, who have little control over setting the course of future with their own intelligence and actions only..

JF-17 are slowly replacing older aircraft. F-7 had their day and the time is coming when they have to go. During Kargil war our air force was in a highly defensive posture and it is not something to be proud of. F-7 should have taken down at least a dozen indian planes. Now their time is almost up. Let's see what JF-17 will do in the future.

What would have happened (in terms of capabilities) if PAF have chosen F-20 instead of F-7s?
