time of imperelism is over now wars are done for strategic gains and testing /advertisng new equipment and latest training and WOT was done for that ,
And if US-Iran deal goes thru then forget any support from USA UK & NATO nations to pakistan as in past .
USA/NATO was never in Afghanistan to control it what it achieved from WOT your nation will take a decade if not more to understand that .
But bright side is you have a window of almost a decade to re energise and reconstruct your economy and its dependence on UK USA & West but only if your nation permits the afghans to manage there internal affairs the way they want else it will be the biggest blunder in history of your nation .

MARCOs aren't going to be used as force protection and the Garuds do not handle this reguarly either. If they are deployed it is for far more agressive missions than base protection- the Afghans can handle that, SFs will do something very different.

Last I checked, MARCOS were on base duties in general vicinity (Int/Counter-Int missions). Also Garuds are narrowed as of now. More the domain of VIKAS till date. Additionally if any present, then its deputation/cross attachments. The cross attachments have increased lately(something to do with Integrated Special Forces Command?) ... let's see

Op Role for MARCOS primarily still remains general area Badipore - Wular - Lolab. Combat exposure rotation of 6 months being done there.
