I like to use wet look hair gel myself.

I did buy the book Queer eye for the straight guy based on the television series.

For those of you who have no idea as to what I am talking about its a tv reality show where 5 gay men who specialise in fashion/grooming/cooking/interiordecorating/culture give a straight man a makeover.

The grooming section says to avoid hairspray at all costs and gel as its too heavy.
It recommends hair wax for styling, pomade for shine and hair cream for lightness.
