Bahria Town, Rawalpindi...a separate town about 25 kms away from Islamabad, good, planned residential and commercial areas with different phases, has took the brunt of housing pressure from Islamabad and it is much less expensive than Islamabad as well.

Bahria Town near Rawalpindi is quite affordable...as this is a new town. A 3 bed, 4 baths 240 sq. yards(about 2000 sq feet covered), double storey house can be purchased at under 2 crores(20 million Pak rupees).

Same house in Islamabad can cost 7 crore or more. Also Islamabad hasn't got much homes under 500 sq yards. which will cost about 12-15 crore. Higher for bigger homes....

Still surprised pakistan ranking of least forest area !

Few reasons...

KPK province Pakistan has about 22% of its land covered with forest and with the billion tree plantation that area will increase to 26% of KPK province.

Baluchistan the largest landmass at 44% of Pak area has no or very little forests. Though the Juniper forest in Baluchistan near quetta and ziarat ranks 2nd largest in the world.

Also the rough estimate now is 4% of the area. Also swamps and delta land with some marshy areas is also included which Pakistan lacks.

It means say Bangladesh has about 15% of forest cover, but Pakistan being a large country in area than B'desh about 5.5 times bigger in area than B'desh. So the actual area should be looked into with the context of Landmass.

Also the number of trees like fruit Orchards also contributes to clean air and environment protection, not just trees considered as forests...Pakistan has lots of trees here. Not counted though in forests...


Also FATA and AJK has lot of forest cover but not accounted for as they are not in the mainland...also Gilgit Baltistan.
