Please see my earlier post with a picture..1 PARA also has Sea divers like the Marcos plus it does the anti hijacking and hostage crisis operations.

9 PARA does the mountainous and high altitude operations.

10 PARA for deserts.

21 PARA for jungle warfare.

Plus the elite 9 PARA SF and other NON SF PARA REGTT do counter insurgency operations and they even have a RR battalion.

SIRJI,MARCOS trainning cannot be more extensive than this.

Regarding the thing about physical fitness unless anyone does the PARA and MARCOS training..no one can really say which is tough and mind you it was the PARA Comandos which won the Special Forces competition in Africa in which many other countries SF took part.

sir ji do u know all marcos first undergo totally para commando training and then they go for specialised underwater training.

so purely on physical training part i can say a marine commando can do everything a para commando can but reverse is not true

First of all the MARCOS are all trained CCDT (Command Clearance and Demolition Team) Divers. That is, they are trained Frogmen. Which we must assume; take place in water or underwater.

You havent read the posts on the thread. First the MARCOS is a CCDT qualified Diver/Frogman. Which is all specialised underwater training to achieve that qualification. Then he goes to be trained to be a MARCOS.
Thats where the gadbad came into your post.

Haven't read the subsequent pages on this thread bro ....but I think its mandatory for a Marcos to be H.A.L.O and H.A.H.O trained , its part of their training regime that they must qualify those two levels of parachute training .

This thread becomes a Vs topic and thats too between ourselves (Para Vs marcos)

Both are Resp. well trained and Badass for whom they are ment for so its just a waste to throw your knowledge on this as thier basic field of Ops. are different altogether.

Why they look non- indian?

They are all Indians . Its the beard making them look bit different. BTW there is no typical indian look ,and many abbrations from the typicals.
I've seen pure Tamil man who could pass off for Afghans.

So how does a person join the MARCOS?

First he joins the IN. And undergoes Basic Seaman training.Then he opts to train as a Diver. If he makes it through the SD (Ships Diver) rating, he then volunteers for Frogman training. Then if he gets his CCDT (Command Clearance and Demolition Team) rating, he may volunteer for MARCOS. If he gets selected and makes it through the training, then he becomes a MARCOS. Takes just a little bit of time and effort.

n.b. Have used "he" here since there are no female MARCOS.

All these debate about who is the best, u guys forgetting that these basically combat units, not for just counter terrorism.
They specialize not just environment they operate in , but for specific missions they going to handle, e,g to suppress enemy air defense units, its Garud of IAF have to be pressed in . Para or Marcos aren't trained to handle those types of missions.

Similarly counter terrorism and anti hijacking we got NSG.
