Meet Jamat e Islami & Its history.

. .
Thanks for posting that Hamid Gul video, my comment stands correct, the military leadership of that time supported JI to the fullest extent.

The same people had a big hand in creating the Taliban. Zia was the Nephew of Maulana Tufail, leader of JI and this allowed JI greater say in politics and decision making.

Gen Hamid Gul is a life long member of JI, he financed MMA against the PPP government in the late 80's to no success.

JI has a deep grip on Pakistan and a lot of sway, that has to be given to this unpopular party, religion is a useful thing and JI has mastered the use of it.

I hope Maulana Fazlur Rahman invites me to the next dinner he holds for the American ambassador.

None or any of the parties are worth supporting.

PPP, ANP, MQM, JI, PML (N, M, O, P, Q etc), PTI, APML and all others.

They are just western lackeys, all they serve is their own members and feudal lords.

The army messed up our political structure by intervening a number of times and now we are stuck with these so called 'Parties'.

We need men of high calibre, the kind of men who created Pakistan.

.
Nonsense, only the Army leadership supported the Taliban with the political parties of the time such as PPP and PMLN who were in power.

I didn't and many others even from the military and civil services opposed the idea of this 'Taliban', but US support and Saudi funds made Taliban the main power in Afghanistan.

Similarly after the Talibans actions came into view after the Mazar-e-Sharif incident and the Buddhist statue bombing, a large proportion considered them to be ruthless barbarians who everyone was cautious of.

Don't make such nonsense statements that the whole Pakistan supported the Taliban, JI and their supporters did, no one else even knew of them enough to support them.

Without the support of Pakistan, Taliban could not have achieved the victory over soviet union and now the same principle apply again.

And after all the opinions of minorities never concern in Pakistan regarding this issue. So no need for you to buckle up.

It wasn't the Taliban but the Mujahideen who 'won' against the Soviets, they were a diverse group compromising partly of what made Taliban in the future. They won because US funded them in conjunction the Saudis to the fullest extent, not to forget the material support provided was vital for their win (stingers for the Mujahideen), Pakistan unfortunately through it's foreign supported leadership was used as the experimental playground for the 'Jihad' project. Look how we suffer today because of this project.

In the 90's, a civil war ensued between the Mujahideen vying for power. The Taliban won from amongst the mujahideen with support of Islamist generals like Hamid Gul and of course the Arabs and the Americans. The ISI was informed of hidden weapons cache that was said to be the requirement to rule Afghanistan and the message was relayed for one purpose. To tell the Taliban where to get this cache of weapons and that they had the required support.

Btw opinion of minorities do matter, after all when Pakistan was under 'minority' control as JI likes to say about Pakistan's past, it was a much better place, a highly respected one and it was the nation envisioned by it's founder. Jinnah himself chose minorities because they worked for Pakistan, in every way possible from wars to financial support or whichever way they were asked to contribute towards our nation.

But the majority gets what the majority wants, bombs after bombs, target killing, political tussles, economic woes, natural disasters and much more.

I just can't let this nation die in the hands of those who cursed it and wash away the decades of work put in by my family alone.

It might not matter to you but it matters to those who want to keep this nation alive.

I beleive you need to do a little more research on that..
The Taliban(the 1995 breed)..had little to do with the defeat of the Soviet Union..
Most of the Mujahideen were from what is now the Northern alliance and those of the Haqqani network(which incidentally..was never actually part of the Taliban).. In the chaos that ensued after the soviet withdrawal and every Afghan Muj commander vieing for Kabul..such as Masood and Jallaluddin Haqqani who was the ISI favorite to take over Kabul and get us that "strategic depth"..
..those young trainees...that had received training in madressas but never went operational saw what they felt were injustices(and quite right) dealt by the warlords all over Afghanistan.
First.. a single village erupted and threw out its warlord..then the movement caught fire..so much..that in little over a year it overwhelmed the disorganized warlords and took major population centers.. since the prime flag carried by these Talibs.. was Justice via Islam.. it was welcomed by every town, village and city(a similar analogy can be found in swat)..
Now contrary to popular ideas.. The ISI was flummoxed as to how it failed to see this new power's rise and was betting on the wrong horse.. so it quickly tried to establish ties with this power to keep its long term strategic goals alive..however..unlike Haqqani.. the Taliban were no ones puppy.. much to the ISI's Chagrin and were willing to attack Pakistan to achieve their own goals as well(the kids for jets hijacking)..
So we tried using the Haqqani network to establish ties by offering an ally ..and Jallaluddin Haqqani who is also a religious hardliner.. got along well with Mullah Omar..
Long story short..
The Taliban that sat in Afghanistan for a little over 7 years.. had NOTHING to do with the soviet defeat as such..
The Nothern Alliance did..
and the Haqqani network did.
The Haqqani guys dont like the yanks.. for more than just politico-religious reasons.. they felt betrayed..but thats another story..
Which is why.. when the Americans want to talk..the Haqqani's say.."give more".. and so.. the PA is being asked to go after their own prize horse in the Afghan Derby..
The Taliban for all practical purposes.. no longer exist as any cohesive unit.

PPP are a feudalists, corrupt and evil. MQM is doing great work in Karachi and has shown they are the only party that care for minorities, middle class and Karachi. PML-N are feudalists and corrupt as well but the Sharifs have done good work in Lahore.

But ANP are murderers. I can never like a party which openly abuses urdu speakers and forgets what sacrifices Muhajirs made for Pakistan. ANP's leader Shahi Syed also vowed to turn Karachi into Kabul which he is doing. ANP also worships Bacha Khan, a traitor to Pakistan.

JI are corrupt, hypocrites, over religious mullahs stuck in the 10th century. They opposed the creation of Pakistan.

1. There can be many administrative faults in ANP viz a viz governance BUT please keep MQM propaganda out of it because ANP is NOT murderer like MQM.

2. Recently in by-elections when MQM once again was grabbing votes at gun point in Sindh, shahi syed announced boycotting of ANP from the elections and leaving the ground to PPP and MQM still MQM terrorism was on peak.

3. Northwestern Pakistanis have been observing restrain in Karachi despite MQM massacre of them

4. You being member of MQM very conveniently avoided mentioning the traitor Altaf hussian and misdeeds of the party

Rather he is not even a traitor he is NOT a Pakistani in the first place

If you claim with your theories that Mujahideen and Taliban are two different things than you can just give a one simple answer.

Why Taliban which according to you are not Mujahideen constantly condemn the TTP fighting against Pakistan army?

nicely said my friend.. and thats what our white part of the flag stands for

this guy is despicable. it seems that his idea of Pakistan is when there are public executions and floggings on the every town sqare in Pakistan. may Allah prevent that day and shame, expose and defeat the people with that intent against Pakistan

1. You call MQM murderers but forget how they have killed MQM activisits, Raza Haider and innocent urdu speaking shopkeepers. Rangers have already arrested hundreds of ANP terrorists who have been killing the people of Karachi.

2. Please give me facts of how MQM grabs votes by gun point? ANP boycotted the election because it knew it would lose, so it's better to keep face rather then lose it.

3. Massacares? I only see Mustafa Kamal and other members of MQM making roads, fixing sewage lines and electricity in Pakhtun dominated areas where violence and illiteracy is at its peak.

4. I am not a member of MQM but a supporter of them because they are the only party which care for Karachi and it's people.
Altaf Hussein has never betrayed MQM. He could have surrendered and let MQM to bits and peaces leaving Karachiites in misery but he didn't and in return his nephew and brother were killed by our corrupt establishment.
He is not a Pakistani because he did not bow down to corrupt leaders.

ANP members have homes in KP but MQM members only have a home in Karachi. While ANP will do anything to destroy Karachi and then run back to their original homes, MQM and the people of Karachi will be left to suffer.

Mullah Omar has condemned TTP but the people amongst his ranks do not think the same way because if they did, the Mullah Badabar incident would not have occurred.

Omar knows that his survival is in supporting Pakistan, but his men have other plans and that is why Taliban has supported TTP against the PA.

I never said Omar and his men were never part of the Mujahideen, in fact Omar was in Peshawar 7. He was in a group called Inquilab-e-Islam Afghanistan.

Omar shot down many Soviet planes and lost his eye in the war.

The main elements of Mujahideen were Hekmatyar, Massoud, Rabbani etc and their men.

The Taliban were either not born or kids back then except for their leaders like Omar.

Many TTP members were part of the Mujahideen too.
