Not sure this is the right forum but can someone explain what "dada" means.

In Urdu we all know it means grandfather but in Karachi and Sindh I think people of African appearance (Sheedi/Makrani) are called as "dada", what does this word mean and where did it originate from?

.
the boss, the hnic, the man running things without question. of subcontinental origin. literally means 'paternal grandfather.' can also be used sarcastically/derogatorily depending on context.

.
Depends on the context. For some dada means grandfather, for some dada means elder brother and for the rest dada is a hoodlum.

Dada means grandfather in Sindhi/urdu.

Cause the language they speak sounds like dadadadadada to South Asians.

The people I'm talking about who live in Pakistan, speak South Asian langauges.

Is it because Africans are our ancestors that we call them dada?

Dada in Saraiki is with a different d sound (implosive) than Urdu daal د

Baba and dada are words of turkic language, baba means father while dada means grandfather, they are words used most commonly but are not from Indian lingo bit like everything else they are borrowed.
