What's new

Me and Imran couldnt control trader mafia.-shabbar zaidi

I believe him here tbh, never underestimate the power of these mafias and their powerful backers.

You can hate on Imran Khan in other aspects, but his strong stance against corruption and mafias is built upon honesty

Textile Mafia of Faisalabad and Sugar Mafia / Electables from Southern Punjab.

Did he really have a strong government given that it depended upon coalition partners?

Also, without the Army resorting to the kind of criminal, mafia style actions it has undertaken against PTI politicians and supporters (unconstitutional arrests, torture, assassinations, threats, bribes, blackmail etc), it really cannot do much, or perhaps chose to do nothing. We already know the Army leadership lies and misleads the political leadership to further its own agenda - so Bajwa telling Shabbar Zaidi or even IK that ‘they have his support’ means absolutely nothing.

Additionally, the media was definitely not under IK’s control. Most of it was in fact viscerally opposed to almost everything he tried to do and if Army led arrests, torture, threats, blackmail etc is not on the cards, then a government needs the media on its side to help push through tough policies.

The real question here is how will any of that change if and when IK comes to power again? What will he do differently the second time around and with what efficacy?

Back in the day President General Musharraf had x3 Bomb attempts on his life by mafia.

Need a bloody revolation to kick these ghaddars OUT.

Pti ruled kpk for last 10 years .. what excuse you have there.
Tell the Army leadership and ISI to do their actual job instead of committing treason, meddling in local politics and supporting terrorists to undermine political parties that challenge the Army’s corrupt hegemony.

Military is one of the first ones to lose if country's economy goes bad.
Which just goes to show the absolute lows the institution of the Army has fallen to, that it would see the country destroyed and weakened instead of giving up its unconstitutional control over the country and end its violations of the constitution and end its campaign of blackmail, extortion, arrests, torture and murder of Pakistani citizens.

People have to understand that pulverising the mafias take time.

The fact that PTI exposed some was a beginning. It’s a long and arduous journey. The direction was certainly the right one.

Some of the members here advocate democracy and the role of independent institutions but are too impatient to see results within a few months.

Now you want to divert to the rhetoric going on.
What does Pakistan army achieve by ttp running around in pakistan... capturing territory and economy suffering. Which eventually squeezes military own budget down to the salary being paid to a soldier who is also giving blood.
This whole idea of inside job is not new..it was peddled back in 2007 and 2008 as well.. back then I was naive to believe it.
Not any more.

As for interference a void is always filled. Vacuum always sucks in .law of mother nature..its not just pakistan ..any country that has weak leadership gets trumpled... do you know any national level party that was not helped to formulate by establishment?..none..thats your answer..even the two big parties are not ready to sit and solve the issues.....what would have 20 smaller parties representing a particular ethnicity or a particular sect would have done if the system is left on an auto pilot.
Will leave you with another gem from shabbar zaidi... what happened when Imran took over and said will not go to imf...
Does Imran have a plan if elections happen tomorrow? 9:30 onwards

-If there is so much resistance to stop traders mafia from closing businesses early, nothing can stop pakistan from defaulting.

-I didn't get political support to handle traders and land mafia during imrans time.

-Imran had strong govt. I had his and bajwas support. Yet still traders were not in control so now what will elections achieve if Imran is coming back with same old plan.

-On Dec 16th 2021 I said pakistan is close to default.. Imran called me and inquired why I was saying that.

-The current govt. Is useless and not even worth discussing.

-The nation needs to know whats his next plan for recovery when he comes back as PM.
Well, we have some valid reason, millions of Pakistan have grassroots employment after sunset hours. From markets to restaurants, factories 2nd and 3rd shift. Extreme hot weather hinders the performance of our labor. But 25 million people are capable enough to pay taxes according to NADRA data, they have luxury houses and expensive cars etc , which they are ready to share with govt and FBR, but the present regime refused to consider the data.

The excuse of extremely hot weather reminds of this guy.. hum Garmi main kharab horahay hain. Is that you.
Yoor.. aaj revolution nahin aa Saktaa aj garmi hai.. let's continue revolution after sunset.

That’s a question for sane, rational entities, not a corrupt, power hungry Military Junta like the Pakistan Army that has repeatedly chosen to undermine the country to capture and maintain its unconstitutional influence going back to the days of Ayoub Khan.

As for interference a void is always filled.
The Amy created these voids going back to Ayub Khan’s dictatorship.

The Army itself is the root cause of the cancer inflicting this country. Institutions don’t magically mature and become strong- it takes time and continuity, and the Army has ensured that no other institution in the country is allowed to function independently.

It uses its mouthpieces to mislead people like you into ignoring its historical role in damaging the country and uses the wounds inflicted by the Army itself to justify continued Army meddling in civilian institutions.

-people who are lifting politicians and torturing them are bird brain politicians not the institution being blamed.

- pdm has failed on economy and now creating a smokescreen to get a political benfit out of the whole situation (by making pti go anti state) ..imran is not able to see across the smokescreen created by pdm.

-all parties on a different page..even courts taking up case against economical streamlining imf is suggesting.. who will arbitrate..how will this country move? Ofcourse then someone would come forward which would be that one institution that arbitrates every time..

That sounds like an epiphany to me. Welcome to the other side. :D

Whose job was it to draw up legislations and bring these traders under the tax net? Who had FBR and Police under their jurisdiction to put pressure on these business tycoons?

Show me proof that Bajwa told the traders to tell IK and SAZ to go forth and multiply. Remember, on your second point, it's innocent till proven guilty and not the other way around.

If you want to investigate, put a neutral commission to look at the economic performance of the PTI government as well. It is mind boggling that 2 months after PTI's departure, the economy tanks. None of the inherent weaknesses of the economy had been addressed. The anger of the public was deflected with ill-advised and unaffordable subsidies. It is just our goddamned luck that incompetence gave way to a bunch of chorr but either way, neither governments did any favors to our economy.

I say this as a Pakistani, and not as a PDM or PTI supporter. Look at the state of the economy in an objective manner and not with politically tinted glasses. Last 5 years have been nothing but a horror show with the economy.

PS: Posting a "haha" indicates raw nerves have been touched. Koi masla nahi.
After 8 years of Musharraf era, stellar growth across the board, first time SOEs were making profits, and halving of public debt to GDP and doubling of per capita GDP, look at what happened the year he was gone.

If you put a chor like Zardari and Sharif at the helm, don’t talk about inherent weaknesses of the economy. The chors are the inherent weakness. Things will collapse right away no matter which country they take over or what the fundamentals are.
