Former New Zealand captain Brendon McCullum will lead Lahore Qalandars in Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) second edition, the franchise has announced.
According to a statement, the 34-year-old will replace Pakistan ODI captain Azhar Ali, under whom the team managed to win just two out of seven matches last season. Qalandars were the only team which failed to qualify for the knockout stage of the tournament.

McCullum, who is retired from international cricket, has played in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Big Bash League (BBL) and in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
The former Kiwis skipper is the third-highest run-scorer in T20 format with 6,955 runs at an average of a shade over 31.
The news might come as a blow to Azhar, who is already under pressure to turn results around in the 50-over format, where the Men in Green lost 4-1 against England under his captaincy in the recently concluded series.
