Gilani orders inquiry into misreport regarding Maulana Fazl

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has ordered an inquiry into airing of news by a private TV channel regarding stopping of Chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazl ur Rehman.

Pinpointing the news regarding Maulana Fazl in the National Assembly on the say of Maulana, PM said that he regrets the news that was aired by a private TV channel regarding Maulana Fazl being stopped from going to US. He said that Maulana Fazl was elected chairman of Kashmir Committee by this house and the whole world knows that Kashmir issue is a disputed issue and it is for the first time that Pakistan is chairing the Kashmir committee session in UN.

He said that he orders Foreign Ministry and Interior Ministry to launch an inquiry into the matter.

After the address of PM, a joint committee of Information, Foreign and Interior ministry was formed which would probe the matter.

Earlier addressing the National Assembly, Maulana Fazl said that a private TV channel aired news of him being stopped at Doha International Airport as he sympathizes with Taliban, while the truth of the matter is that he has not even gone abroad yet. He said that broadcasting such news is truly irresponsible and don’t know who is trying to malign the image of Pakistan by spreading such news.

When Narendra Modi--the thuggish (if not outright murdering) Chief Minister of Indian state of Gujarat was denied visa to visit UK/USA (?) following the 2002 massacre of Muslims in India I saw that almost all Indians--whether they liked it or not--were solidly behind Modi.
But we Pakistanis are different, I think. What has Maulana Fazlu done anything resembling Modi?! True, Fazlu criticizes America's presence in Pakistan/Afghanistan but he certainly does not condone the suicide attacks of any kind. One of Fazlu's top associates were killed by the Talibans in Peshawar area a few years ago because the associate was not good enough for the Talibans. There needs to be multiplicity of voices in Pakistan and, whether we like it or not, Fazlu's voice is there and is being heard by millions of (conservative) Pakistan. Truth be told, Fazlu is an Imran Khan with the beard on, politically.

I personally couldnt care even two rupees over him or his associates. All they do is talk talk talk then go to sleep. They try to set religious examples, but they themselves are engaging in dining room siaset and political rivalries (remember his relations with former Amir of J.I. Qazi Hussein). Without going into detail, he has made statements that I find outrageous; I even would go so far as to question his patriotism (at times).

i'd love to see reactions of Americans --seeing this guy in golden robes outfit with unkempt beard and all. By the time he lets out that famous smile of his, whole terminal would be empty and there would be hundreds of suit-case and carry-on bags scattered everywhere by people who dropped everything and ran away

only 4 cylinders of the inline 5 are working....and to make matters worse, blown head gasket; leaky exhaust manifold and a faulty harmonic balancer which is about to give way ---hence the extra unwanted noise!
