Noose tightens around Fazlullah

ISLAMABAD: Highly informed sources told The News that the dragnet around Maulana Fazlullah and his band of close associates has really been tightened and his arrest, or elimination, at the hands of security forces could happen within the next 24 hours.

According to a source, captured Taliban leader Muslim Khan is singing like a canary and has reportedly pinpointed a couple of most secret hiding dens of his commander. The source also indicated that the ‘arrest’ of Muslim Khan may well be a negotiated surrender with security forces giving it the cover of being an arrest to retain Muslim Khanís credibility and protect his near and dear ones from Fazlullahís deadly reprisal against any perceived act of betrayal.

According to another highly reliable source, Muslim Khan, had been of late trying to broker a deal through certain elements whereby his life would be spared in lieu of his spilling beans leading to the arrest or killing of Fazlullah and some of his other top commanders.

APP adds: eight militants, including three Afghans, were killed and nine others sustained injuries, while a security personnel embraced Shahadat in the ongoing operation Rah-e-Rast, said a media update of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Five terrorists were killed and nine others apprehended in a search operation in Smater area near Banjot. A soldier also embraced Shahadat, while another sustained injuries in an exchange of fire with the militants in the area, the ISPR said.

During a search operation in Chinar area, security forces killed three Afghan terrorists, it added. Two terrorists were apprehended in Bandai village near Khwazakhela and two others voluntarily surrendered in Barshaur and Uzbak Banda.

During search operations in Qambar, Kuza Bandai and Nao, seven suspects were apprehended and 10 others voluntarily surrendered to security forces in Kala Killay and Gul Jabba near Kabal.

All Suicide bombers and their masters don't need to be capture for trial. They would must be forward by Pakistan Army for FINAL TRIAL in COURT of ALLAH.

No, I think they should be brought before court just to show that it is Pakistani Constitution that the army serves and not any one else.

They should be prosecuted as criminal( killing them might make them heroes for some, they should be given the chance to clear themselves through argument in court and we all know they can't clear themselves).

Moreover, they should be forced to reveal the names of their masters in front of the international media.

PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!

Khasadar are not up to the job - unfortunately - and in a way just as the State and Credibility" editorial says, once the state convincingly defeats the talib, you will see the Khasadar more reliable.

They announce that we surrounded him from all side if he is not willing to surrender our armed forces will kill him

Guys, shouldn't this thread be confined to news about Fazlullah only ?? Why new items of other threads being pasted here ??

there's no point in getting excited unless the news is confirmed..we all know what happened with baitullah mehsood..he was dead one day and the very next day he was alive..so don't believe pakistan army..they are well known for spreading rumours.

Pakistan Army is not spreading any rumors here - you have unofficial comments from various sources.

And the fact is that Baituallah was killed in that airstrike - the Taliban waited to announce his death once they had finalized the leadership succession issue. Both the US, that had access to the most direct evidence in the form of their Drone surveillance before the strike and Pakistani intelligence confirmed he had died.

Did it not strike you as funny that the various Taliban commanders kept saying different things about Baitullah - he is dead, seriously injured, seriously ill, was not present at the airstrike location etc. and then confirmed his death the day the power sharing agreement between his clansmen was announced?

I would however agree on waiting before getting too excited about the latest news about Fazlullah - there has been no official confirmation of the events suggested, as there was in the case of Baitullah being killed.
