Educated probably isn't the best word. I think privileged would make more sense. Some people in MQM held areas and interior Sindh dont even have the privilege of considering alternative parties because of the fear of repercussion.

I have to disagree with you @ziaulislam as we are actually seeing progress that hadnt been seen in the last 3 decades. Kicking out a sitting PM fair and square! thats something that is huuuuge in terms of democratic development.

i disagree, just that a some judges made the right decision under pressure from army isnt going to change anything, if the people lack any awareness, the key is right education, we need our new generation to know the difference between right and wrong, between corruption and dis honesty...

regarding current generation, i dont expect anything from them, as nation we are corrupt and hence we aer known as such in international community

There is improvement but considering this by-election was held after a big event we were expecting an upset, that is what would have happened in an educated society ........ our society is still ready to vote "Mayri maa mar gai", "Mayra baap phansi char gya", "Mayri maa ka gala kharab hy", "Mayray baap ko tankhwa nai mili" etc etc

again Punjab needs to be divided into multiple provinces ........ they have long decided rest of Pakistan's fate.

Just another reason why Punjab needs to be split into multiple provinces. They are slaves of the Sharifs and will keep imposing these scums onto the rest of Pakistan. If Punjabis love Sharif so much they can keep electing them as CM, but a Sharif PM is not acceptable to the rest of Pakistan.

This by election was a complete defeat for PML-N. PML-N has never lost from this constituency, heck they even won in 2002 from here. The mere fact that the margin was closed by this much speaks volumes of the result. Keep in mind, PML-N controls both the Provincial and the Federal Government. Ruling parties tend to win these elections, heck even PPP never lost a single by election between 2008-2013. People of the local constituency are aware of the fact that voting for the opposition is useless because they cannot get any work done. PML-N was smart enough to start digging roads and sewages, making it clear to the constituents that the work will only be completed if their member is voted in. After this by election, i am actually confident now that PTI can win 2018.
