One more thing that needs to be factored in while claiming the Talibans will win is the advantage the Talibans enjoy w.r.t sanctuaries on both sides of the border..I mean if pressure increases on the Pak side they can just cross over the virtually non-existent border to their cave resorts in Afghanistan and come back after the heat has subsided..the Maoists have no such luxury..

LTTE was the next only to Hezbolla in weapons capabilities.In some areas they were even better than Hezbollah.
They had 152mm Artilerry Guns,122mm MBRL's,SAM's etc.

1). Because they have experience of 30+ years of war. They grow up playing in minefields, shooting aks, and seeing bloodshed.

2). They are masters of psychological warfare (beheadings, indoctrinations, intimidation and other scare tactics).

Taliban are smart at least the higher ups are. I think it was @Icarus who said they play Quran verses to get people to surrender and than kill them.
