most people learn other languages for economic reasons, not because they think it "sounds" nice.
same reason why india and china will have the highest number of english speakers in the near future.

using such logic to make it seem that one language is better than another is childish at best, and completely moronic at worst.

That's why so many people across the world learn to speak Chinese, even the Prime Minister of Australia as well as US Presidential candidates and the US Treasury secretary.

But no one bothers to learn any Indian languages, be it Hindi or Tamil.

Chinese don't have Y Chromosomes to be considered savages but yes they do have mtDNAs to become slaves. Savages do have masculinity which is absent among Chinese.

And learning Chinese serves Indian national interests because the more Indians learn Chinese, the more it will be easier for the military establishment to infiltrate deep into Chinese social, economic and political institutions and sabotage them to weaken Chinese national security from within. This is what Kautilya categorically said in the Arthasastra. As soon as chaos appears in China, the army will launch an attack.
