A General Court in Saudi Arabia’s capital has sentenced a young man to 10 years in prison, 1,000 lashes and a lifetime driving ban for a series of car drifting offenses.

The 23-year-old man, known by friends as ‘The King of Nazeem Neighborhood,” appeared on YouTube videos drifting with his car and sometimes driving into oncoming traffic.

In one of the videos, he and two of his friends were holding machine guns and shooting in the air in broad daylight. He also caused the death of one of the young men riding with him while he was drifting.

Many residents in Riyadh expressed concern and fear about the man’s reckless behavior and disregard for public safety. The three-judge panel did not uphold the demand of the prosecutor-general to sentence the man to death, striking down his motion with a two to one majority.

The prosecutor-general objected to the court’s verdict and demanded the case be reviewed, insisting the defendant should be executed because of his actions that had killed a man.

Riyadh Police’s undercover officers arrested the man in November 2012 while he was hiding inside a house on the outskirts of the capital.

Inside, they confiscated 21 tires and different tools as well as license plates he used to divert police attention.

They also found false identification cards and other documents.

Are you going to post every time a Saudi citizen is arrested?

Drifting is dangerous to other road users. They should have designated safe areas for drifting.

Yesterday I watched a video of your cowardly regime hanging 3 Baha'i men simply for being Baha'i.

The baying mob was chanting "death to Baha'i"

So this punishment pales into insignificance.

Interesting. Another butthurt Farsi looking for attention.

Let's see. A person that has put HUNDREDS of peoples live in danger by driving like an notorious maniac is jailed and receives lashes. Poor thing. Good riddance.

Every year hundreds of INNOCENTS die due to idiots like him who chose to make stupid drifts in the middle of crowded roads.

How many crimes do we have here? Murder, reckless driving, violation of traffic rules, forgery, using weapons illegally in broad daylight putting lives in danger, putting hundred of innocent peoples live in danger by his driving etc. That's nothing of course.

He should be more than grateful for this mild punishment. I would
have condemned him to death or life imprisonment without parole.

The injustice against Arabians by the ruling clique must end now!

King Al-Nadeem - the district of Nadeem - is a gangster. He was on trial for many crimes, killing one of his own friend, and drugs.

Here is the video where his buddies were holding machine guns:

Although I must say that this 23 year-old young boy is a good driver.

Here is the video of the accident where the judges delivered the verdict against him:

We would win several Formula 1 championships if the government ever decided to focus on car racing. Time to built international circuits. We have many talented drivers. The International Ha'il Rally is not enough.

Our ancient 14 region, Bahrain, is one of the many hosts of the Formula 1.

In all seriousness the death penalty would have been fair for him. Don't know how he escaped so mildly. 10 years? LOL. Those 1000 lashes are nothing when he only gets like 5 a day. Those lashes should be like in Iran but he would probably die.

Anyway I must say that you Najdis never learn.:D

@F117

"Poor" in KSA is considered rich in Iran and in 90% of all Muslim countries outside of the GCC.

Also that neighborhood is mostly inhabited by illegals and Afro-Arabs that are generally more poor. Nothing strange about this.

That report was found out to be highly exaggerated and fabricated.

1000 lashes? Wow. Just do the man and his executioner a favor and hang him already...

Nothing can be further from this truth, in this documentary

Even Iranian Americans are saying their own people are starving:

And now, even the Mullahs' mouthpiece mummies are crying blood about it:

Harsh on Iran: 'Sanctions disgusting, hit ordinary people' - YouTube

If and only if the Iranians can afford what the Saudis are feeding to their cats and dogs, then we might come into an agreement about who's starving and who should be sat free.

Hellz, seeking a medical treatment in Iran became a mission impossible

Iran - Iranian patients lack medicine - over Nuclear Program - YouTube

Someone must free the oppressed people of Arabia. :( The family in this documentary only has 1 meal per day, while the elite throws lavish parties.
