LAHORE: A man axed his 40-year-old wife allegedly over differences on giving away their daughter in Shadbagh police precincts on Wednesday.
The police said that Mazhar, of Gandi Bambiyan, and his wife Nusrat had differences on giving away their daughter.
Nusrat’s brother Javed told the police that Mazhar wanted to give away the girl as per his own desire but Nusrat objected to it.
On Wednesday, spouses again had an argument after which infuriated Mazhar attacked Nusrat with an axe. Resultantly, Nusrat received critical injuries and was taken to a hospital but to no avail. The police registered a case against Mazhar and sent the body for an autopsy.

Run over: An unidentified woman was crushed to death by a fleeing vehicle in Shafiqabad.
The police said that the woman appearing to be in her thirties was crossing the road near Malipura when a vehicle ran her over and fled. She was shifted to a hospital but in vain. The body was sent for an autopsy.
Hit-and-run: A motorcyclist was knocked down by speeding truck in Racecourse police precincts.
The police said that Mirza Muhammad Akram, of Mughalpura, was on his way on a bike when the truck hit him on Jail Road. As a result, Akram received serious injuries and was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The police handed over the body to his family after completing legal formalities.
Dies: A Nigerian national died in mysterious circumstances in Naulakha police precincts.
The police said that an unknown rickshaw driver brought the foreigner identified as Obieze to Mayo Hospital with injuries.

According to duty doctors, the victim had wounds on his face and died during treatment. The police shifted the body to the morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
Bodies: Bodies of three unidentified men were found in different parts of the city on Wednesday.
The Civil Lines police found a body in Bagh-e-Jinnah; the Shadbagh police found the second body in Goal Bagh while the Lohari Gate police found the third body lying on a roadside.
According to police, the victims were addicts and might have died because of overdose of drugs. The bodies were shifted to the morgue for autopsies.
