Majority in Pak don't support terrorists: Khan

I doubt it. Surveys have shown 42% Pakistanis think Lashkar E Taiba - hardcore murderers, are heroes. Many had mixed opinions.

Certainly that attitude is reflected on the forum too. I don't know what Khan means by that, may be we are still stuck in who is a terrorist, which are good and which are bad, and whether ajmal kasab is indeed pakistani (yes we still discuss that here).

What a stupid answer by Shaharyar Khan

Shaharyar Khan: Yes, that is true but you have to distinguish the killing, assassination of one man like Salman Taseer, who would stick his neck out in the cause of blasphemy and various other religious causes. I'm sorry to have to say this, he was asking for it from the extremists.

So it is wrong to stick your neck out against injustices in the name of religion. Lets be honest here Sheharyar got this far because of his royal ancestry and a lack of backbone which is evident from his stance on a number of issues. Playing to the gallery comes to mind when I think of our foreign secretary's and other such diplomats from 70's and onwards who rose up in the ranks because of their connections and a penchant for saying the right things when required.

These interview reiterates one thing that I have felt for some time now, these people manage to say what the foreign press wants to hear but they are not so adamant in convincing the establishment to do what is required.
