Neither CAA nor NRC deals with giving refugee. It's has to do with giving Citizenship to refugees as well as illegal immigrants. While I strongly believe and oppose the CAA-NRC combo. It has no comparison whatsoever with what Mr.Mahatir and his party said back in 1979.

Forget citizenship, they were literally trying to drive away those who seek humanitarian refuge by threatening to shoot them while India even giving refuge to over 4,0000 plus Rohingya Muslims on our soil as we speak apart from others. So both has no parallels.

But they discriminate on ethnic/religious grounds. That's the point being made. Many populist parties in Europe also have anti-immigrant policies or agendas, but Modi is being selective and if anything, is encouraging non-Muslim migrants generally. This is why Assam is in uproar.

Because everyone knows that it won’t just effect migrant Muslims. It raises a question mark over all 200m Indian Muslims who now have to find documents, hire expensive lawyers to prove their citizenship. Even a small spelling mistake or lost document through riots, displacement will see them detained.

Not sure what clown school you were educated at. Refugee status has nothing whatsoever to do with which country an individual emigrated to, or their ancestors emigrated to in the past.

The bottom line is, if in theory some Muslim from Pakistan or Bangladesh wishes to "flee" to India alongside some non-Muslim from those nations, one will be refused Indian citizenship and one won't. This is called discrimination. Ask Modi-Jee for a dictionary for Christmas.
