I used to watch Mahabharat when it used to come on late nights........never knew what was going on ,but it had good fight scenes and crazy special effects.

I used to watch it for the same reasons. The battles were interesting. However, understanding who was who and what was going on was completely beyond me. Hinduism is a very complicated religion.

^^^I guess you'll need your grandmom for that, to tell you bedtime stories from the epic!! Its a rather long and complex story.

I personally never liked the production. The costumes were mostly gaudy, the acting was wooden and most of the scenes were badly done.
I remember being 11 years old and thinking to myself "This is so lame".

All said and done, the show was one of the pioneers of the Indian TV scene. Streets in India in the early 90s used to literally empty out on sunday mornings when the show aired.

I do like the title song. And the cool ISCKON paintings look nice.

I was hooked to it. Never miss even the repeat telecasts.

The story is not really a single story but may stories are interwined in one. I am fascinated by the characterization.

I watched almost all episodes. Even i remember the characters and learnt lot of hindi from this drama. It was like 7 brother with seven different stories and further generate more stories..
