Made-in-China products expanded to world arms market - People's Daily OnlineNovember 23, 2010
Contracts worth some 9.3 billion U.S. dollars have been signed during the Zhuhai Airshow 2010, which attracted worldwide attention, Hong Kong's Ta Kung Pao reported on Tuesday.
The report says popular made-in-China products have expanded from cheap toys to precise fighters. The more open and more dynamic Air Force of China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) is demonstrating its image of openness, confidence and cooperation to the world and is the brightest star in the air show.
The Chinese made FC-1 Xiaolong fighter, also known as JF-17 Thunder, staged an "aerial ballet" during the Zhuhai Airshow, which attracted domestic fans and media agencies. The JF-17 Thunder had been shown at the prestigious U.K. Air Show in July, but did not perform a flight demonstration. The maiden flight of JF-17 Thunder must be conducted in China, said a senior official of Pakistan Air Force.
The Chinese Air Force was the brightest star in the Zhuhai Airshow, and Pakistan is willing to make joint efforts to promote the bilateral relations of air forces to a new level, according to a senior official of Pakistan's air force.
In addition, the second "China Aviation Day" jointly hosted by Chinese Air Force and the China Aviation Industry Corporation was held in Zhuhai on Nov. 18. A total of 11 kinds of aircraft in service were displayed and the participants included foreign military delegations and government representatives.
