I have to partially disagree @Aeronaut, this is what certain arab nations caused...had there been no ALQ/FSA there would have been no displacement no War. other than bharain no other arab country as minority ruling a majority.
even in Bahrain the statistics are not that overwhelming. aded the fact that theya re ruling for a century now. the case in syria is different with an uprising every decade since he is in power
lastly non of them were nearly as bloody as this one.

in the end we must ask what are the possible outcomes in syria.
assad family lust to continue to rule will have one outcome...continuing bloodshed with ultimate ethnic war and probably genocide. if a peaceful transition is not made one group(sunnis vs shia) will end up killing the other

According to an Islamic point of view, if you can't say a word against injustice, at least don't speak. You're further supporting the oppressive side. GCC have nothing whatsoever to do with Syrian uprising at the beginning. They had been watching killing defendless civilians in streets for few moths before they stepped in and decided to take people side. They didn't start arming the people until they tried all diplomatic, economic and political measures with Assad to stop his killing machine, that took 2 years until they decided to arms people to defend themselves.

Qaeda entered Syria, but so what? Does that mean that the uprising and it's people are all wrong? Just like Afghanistan, Qaeda was there but it doesn't mean the USSR or USA have any right to invade it.

As a matter of fact, Syrian people and FSA stood against Qaeda and fought them.

Assad takes all the blame and god bless GCC for taking people side.
