Made for each other: Bangladesh is evolving into India’s best friend in the neighbourhood

"For Indian diplomats, who want the Pakistan army’s India-hate hysteria tamed to deliver a meaningful peace process with Islamabad, focus on the 1971 genocide is timely. It also helps India domestically in conflict zones like Kashmir, where Islamist separatists raise pro-Pakistan slogans and demand merger"

What nonsense do these people write? Times Of India?? This is embarrassing journalism. This pathetic excuse for a journalist can barely conceal his bias with his bizarre generalisations bordering on conspiracy theories.

Indians are living in a completely enclosed ideology bubble. It's quite scary to third parties watching from the outside. Everything they read every day smacks of this bizarre obsession and summary ranting against Pakistan. Ideas and even rants become formalised without a shred of empirical evidence.

Sadly, Pakistan makes no effort to burst their bubble. Pakistani bureaucracy is squarely responsible for this.

Why doesn't Pakistan hold a remembrance day for the invasion of Hyderabad Deccan invasion and the subsequent massacre? According to their own sundarlal committee report? Same with Junagadh and Manavdar.

Pakistan could ask india to apologize for their crimes in these two princely states.

We cant blame india anymore when the geniuses in Pakistan only know how to retain power for themselves and nothing else.

Pakistan is just so rudderless that one day we say india is fighting a hybrid war and the regime there is an extremist one, but lets bury the past and make peace.

For decades, the problem has been the apathy of our leadership, happy to eat biryani paid for by India while Pakistan's narratives floundered. Today, there is at least a shred of dignity arising. But you're right - a lot more is needed, starting with some determination and consistency in approach.

India is a perpetual enemy state. There is no need to pretend otherwise, even during negotiations with them. We don't want any reset or lasting peace with these people. A ceasefire under appropriate circumstances is fine, with a big ideological wall between our nations, thank you very much.

As expected, Pakistanis came on this thread about Indo-Bangla friendship and hijacked it. You guys can open separate thread to cry about your failures.

Did you read the article? Subir bhai speaks more about Pakijjtan than Bangabandhu in his supposed analysis of Bd-Ind friendship.

Ok, but lets come back to the headline of this thread.

In your opinion, who is India's best friend in South Asia?
Also, who do you think is Bangladesh's best friend in South Asia?

On a government level - yes Bangladesh best of friends with India, 1971 narrative is the bond that keeps us 'together'

People to people - non existent

Even if we forget 1971 and just analyze based on today's needs. Both India and BD need each other at the moment.
