All the posters who are quoting me,please don't think I am trying to find fault with Islam,my argument is not about religion,it's about the reaction of the people who follow it.

For example When bokoharm kidnaps 300 minor girl we don't see protests and we know they call themselves Muslims .

For a non Muslim ,they are huge protests when a non Muslim does something which Muslims think is disrespectful then we see huge protests. But when it comes to the above bokoharm incident or any other terrorist incident we see silence other than few statements made here and there and some even justify it.

When a non Muslim sees it they get the impression as if it's allowed in Islam as no Muslim is on the street to show he is offended by terrorist incident .There Is no point in telling non Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace ,that message is sent out when people come out on the street to tell everyone that,what terrorists have done is not part of Islam and that also sends a clear message to terrorists that no one supports them.

Ok protector is Islam ,tell me when a terrorist attack happens why don't we see this kind of reaction from Muslims around the world protesting on the streets other than sad incident and they interpret wrong ,it's few bad apples ,or some terrorists do what ever they do and justify using Islam are they not disrespecting Islam .

To be honest there isnt much outrage about all these caricatures in islamic countries that matter like Saudi, and UAE.
People are silent...govts are silent...it's only in third world muslim countries like pakistan and Bangladesh there is a bit of noise.
None of the muslim countries have cut their diplomatic ties or trade with France.
Even in india ,which has the world's largest muslim population there are no protests from muslims
This is a welcoming change in muslim world...there was a time when just a rumour of burning of quran would set the total cities on fire.Over the years, especially after the advent of internet has helped in desensitising muslims.
You could see plenty of youtube channels by ex muslims not only in english but also in urdu, hindi and arabic that are criticising islam and Mohammad.
I still remember 18 years back there was only one or two websites run by ex muslims ,that too anonymously...It was unimaginable back then for a muslim to come out and declare that he or she left islam ...I used to admire the courage of Ayaan hirsi Ali who was the first muslim who came out in open and started criticisng islam.
For us hindus and christians criticisng and making fun of god is a very normal thing for centuries...but its only in the last decade and a half that this acceptance of criticism is entering into muslims , although there is still a lot of change that has to come about..
The western world should be given credit for so many great modern values like equality, freedom of expression, feminism etc...
The reformation which has come(and that is going to come) in muslims mindset is also due to western world...I am pretty sure without west and internet this change would never have come.

My advice to France and French people as a practicing Muslim with background in ME region and having lived there and understand what culture and society there is like:

First of all, I think Prophet's of Abrahamic religions should be left out of satire completely as they are considered holy figures in all Abrahamic religions. Now getting to the point, is not worth it to continue having these satires and not because I am against freedom of speech in your country, I am not. I am just telling you to take political and social climate of Muslim world into context. You have people going through decades of mismanagement, war, civil strife, poverty, corruption, dictatorship, lack of centralized religious leadership and severe disputes between tribes/parts of nations in the ME and greater Muslim world. Muslims are facing a social crisis and it is gonna take more time for things there to change. They don't have a strong foundation for their nations and future and you need to take all these factors into account.

So you have bunch of defeated people who are looking for reason to lash out and sometimes they lash out against their own governments and chaos ensues. Sometimes it is too hard for them to do that and they just bottle in all that frustration. Don't invite that chaos upon yourself as some of those looking for reason to lash out. It's like going to mental asylum where there are people fighting among themselves than you go and divert the attention on yourself. The Muslim world is not thinking with logic right now and they deep rooted issues which require God's intervention to help resolve and I am advising you it's in your interest to just lay off this stuff right now as much as I or others try to change Muslim's thought process, it is not gonna work in the short term and it's better to take this attention off yourself unless you want to be dragged down like how rest of Muslim world is dragging itself down.

I think you guys are underestimating how bad of a shape the Muslim world is in, they can't seem to find direction/guidance at the moment and you should seriously take that into account. Muslims are going to help you as much as they are able to help themselves(take a look at Syria, Libya, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, etc...)

You sum up all the relevant facts nicely and I agree with you that the French should stop making satire just out of cautiousness, perhaps for a good 5-10 years until things in Muslim world calm down.
