Maarif Foundation to takeover Pak-Turk schools in Pakistan

The Maarif Foundation is all set to take over the administration and control of the Fethullah Gülen Pak-Turk schools and colleges in Pakistan after the successful conclusion of diplomatic and backdoor channel discussions between Ankara and Islamabad. According to sources in Pakistan and Turkey, the Pakistani government is ready to give the control of the Fethullah Gülen schools to the Turkish authorities. In a weekly briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Pakistan's Foreign Office spokesperson, Muhammad Nafees Zakaria said: "We are in contact with the Turkish authorities to make a decision of these schools. However, the one [matter] that is more considerable is Turkey might suggest to us an entity or organization to take over these schools and colleges."

The Pakturk schools in Pakistan are registered under a charity and nongovernmental organization. According to the draft of the relevant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) available to this correspondent, the agreement was made between the Economic Affairs Division of Pakistan and the Pak-Turk International Education Foundation. The document reveals that Pak-Turk International Education Foundation is registered in the Republic of Turkey under the Charity Act. Subsequently, if the organization's registration is cancelled by Turkish authorities, it will no longer be able to operate legally in Pakistan.

The seven-page MoU is simple and was signed on Oct 30, 1999, four years after of the schools launched, by the then Country Representative Halit Esendir and Joint Secretary Economic Affairs Division, Zaheer Ahmed. The agreement may be terminated at any time upon three months' notice given by either the Economic Affairs Division or Pak-Turk. Another registration of Pak-Turk is in the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under the registration CUIN 0076038, dated May 25, 2011. This means that for 12 years the group just worked without any registration on a simple MoU to make millions of dollars for the Gülenist empire in Pakistan.

The MoU has been violated numerous of times by the administration Pak-Turk schools and colleges. The first violation is that these schools and colleges were meant to be for the poorest of the poor in Pakistan and yet became the schools of elites in the Pakistan. To understand what pushed the Pak-Turk administration from a charity organization toward a business entity and why they threw out the education of the poorest from their MoU, it is best to know that the fees of these schools are approximately $300 per month for A/O Level. This amount in Pakistan rupees makes more than 30,000, an impossible sum even for a middle class family to afford. The sources revealed that the Maarif Foundation will make these schools ideal for those children from poorer backgrounds, those whom Pak-Turk has exploited over the last two decades to build its corporation.

Pakistani govt should auction these school to private sector, why foreign exchange flow out of country. These schools were generating income, its not coming from some foreign land.

Theese schools are mostly opened to have a power around the field.
Now it is revealed that this Gulen works for USA.
If you want this schools stay open just for a bit of money or just because they didn't do anything, then you are just too naive.
We gave our students too, they became ranked soldiers and lawyers, when the time came, they worked for Gulen.

Turkey to establish foundation to curb Gülenist clout abroad

In a new bid to quell the Gülenist clout abroad, Ankara will establish an official entity to counter the Gülen Movement's global network of schools. The Maarif Foundation, named after an Ottoman Turkish word for education, which comes from the Arabic word for knowledge or wisdom, will be founded by the Ministry of National Education to establish schools around the world which will serve as alternatives to the schools run by members of the shady movement who now face terrorism charges.

The foundation will address the educational needs of the Turkish community abroad, offering Turkish-style education in other countries at the same time that Gülenists face an increased crackdown. Despite already being charged with two attempts to overthrow the government, members of the movement have managed to maintain their international presence in the schools, which were established by former preacher, Fethullah Gülen. Critics say the schools serve as a mill for recruiting new followers. After the Gülenists' involvement in the 2013 coup attempt, Ankara moved to shut down all schools affiliated with Gülen abroad, calling on its international allies to close the schools, citing terrorism charges filed in Turkish courts against members of the movement. According to reports, 21 Gülen-affiliated schools in Pakistan will be closed, while Tajikistan announced closure of schools after the coup attempt in 2013. Gülenist schools in Azerbaijan were also closed.

A draft bill for the establishment of the Maarif Foundation is awaiting approval in parliament which will grant the foundation the authority to establish grade schools and universities abroad. Schools that are already being run by the Turkish state overseas are expected to be handed over to the Maarif Foundation which currently has a budget of TL 1 million. The foundation will be authorized to grant scholarships and open dormitories for students abroad.

The Gülen Movement has seen its members and sympathizers purged from state institutions, local police and the judiciary. The movement has already been designated a "national threat" by authorities, classifying it as a terrorist organization. Gülenists are accused of illegally wiretapping thousands of people ranging from the prime minister to journalists and prominent figures. Infiltrators are also accused of framing their critics for crimes they did not commit and taking opponents to sham trials in efforts to silence anyone seen as an obstacle to the Gülen Movement. Members of the movement have exploited affiliates in local law enforcement, the judiciary and the upper echelons of bureaucracy. Hundreds of generals, academics and dignitaries have been detained for years on trumped-up charges accused of staging coups. The charges have been deemed based on false evidence planted by Gülen's infiltrators in law enforcement.

In the U.S., Gülenists are primarily invested in charter schools which receive government funding but operate independent of the public school system. Dozens of schools associated with the retired preacher and his followers face criticism and legal investigations over the alleged misuse of federal grants, as well as the abuse of the visa system, using it to funnel Turkish teachers into the U.S. to teach in the charter schools.

Do not worry. Pakistan government is already working with Turkish government on this. Turkish concerns will be addressed. Indians are trying hard to create suspicions between two brother nations on this issue. Many are pretending to be Pakistanis. Be careful who you believe.

It's not the property of turkey government and this group has not done anything illegal in Pakistan so they can just go to the court and stop all this proceeding anytime .

And how is it an Indian's problem?

. .
The Turkish financial input into these schools are from donations from the Turkish folks. So, they partly belong to the Turkish nation, and, on their behalf, the Turkish government is ensuring that they don't give a bad name..

What's about a kid graduating from one of these schools and joining PAF and trying to bomb strategic locations within Pak - a high octane Hollywood movie scene, right? Well, FETO proxies are meant for realizing such movie scenes. For the sake of sanity I'm stopping here. For Aklman, Isharet is Kafi..
