Those people were brought in without the consent of the Sri Lankan people. Therefore there is no issue in deny those people citizenship whether or not they were in Sri Lanka when we gained independence.

The most important issue was that they were Indian citizens forcible evicted from their native lands by the British. Why don't you stand up for their right to return to their home country.

You people shed tears for homeland struggle for Jaffna Tamils but you can't stand up for your own people.

It would have interesting to know the outcome of its result if LTTE had resorted to guerilla tactics. I think Prabaran got too much comfort than to live in forests.

The outcome would have been the same but Sri Lankan forces would have a harder time. LTTE's direct attacks and extensive use of fortifications as well as artillery made them easier to find and destroy
