Anam Banday of Pakistan improves her personal record in women 400m IM Swimming with new time 5:34.64, but fails to qualify for next round. She broke Pakistani record by a margin of 3 sec but not good enough.

I watched her swim, and she was not even in the picture, the other three were light years ahead.

Well that's the problem with south Asia. The main focus of sports is on cricket. However I'm keeping an optimistic outlook nonetheless. Hopefully by 2014 a lot will change by then

Indian Archery Recurve team (men) is out of the competition. Despite a lead of valuable 2 points till the last round they allowed Japan to level the score and then lost in the tie-breaker. Tarundeep Rai who was best among the boys shot a pathetic 8 in the last round which cost them the match. It was hard to believe that these boys stunned the Koreans just a month ago. Nothing expected from them in individual events. Hope that will help them to perform freely. Now, it is up on the girls and especially Deepika Kumari to rise in the big occassion.

Shiva Thapa and Vijendra are starting their campaign. Thapa got a bad draw. If he wins the first round he would have to face one of the best in his category.
